Losing power then stalling out

Just got an 85 720 with a 2 year old weber carburetor. Truck runs great aside from losing power and then stalling out occasionally. It usually starts right back up with a little quick start. We have replaced the fuel pump and filter and had the vacuum hoses and coils inspected. The mechanics who looked at it with us were at a loss for what the problem may be. Anyone have any advice? Thanks!

have you tried the ignition control module? i was looking to get a spare one for mine so i googled "symptoms bad ignition control module". what you're experiencing sounds like that could be the problem. but this is all new to me so... dunno. hope you figure it out.

Thanks haven't looked into that. We replaced the fuel pump relay and have gotten 80 miles with out stalling.. a new record. Seems we may have found the problem. Fingers crossed!

I dont know if anyonelse had this problem but I had it and my buddy removed the fuel filter and ran it straight its ran great ever since. yes I had the filter that it called for. Also had rust in the old tank.
