I am having serious trouble getting my rb20 to run......there are a couple issues on the table right now and so everyone knows I am using Wulfgangs guide as well as factory service manuals to try and fix this thing.

Long story short the wiring was botched.I found a million issues with it so I just had to tear it down and start all over again. So I used the guide.

Now I got all the stuff for the 2 white plugs down thats no issue but the problem I am having and maybe this is straight up dislexia is getting the 2 relays for the eccs, and the igntion coils to switch, and also to get the fuel pump to prime like it's supposed to (as opposed to running constantly).Actually as of right now the fuel pump won't even come on unless I ground out the relay for the fuel pump and once I do that it's runs constantly.

Heres what my understanding is.The white and purple wire is supposed to be tied into the ignition relay under the hood to the solid white wire to be exact. So I have corrected this is this right??.Then as for the green relays the orange wires on the plugs (my plugs were removed) got to the orange wires on the harness (separatley in conjunction with each individual relay)The solid white wire on the ignition relay goes to the sloid white wire on the harness, and the black/white wire on the eccs relay goes to the black/white wire on the harness. Then what you have left is 3 white/black wires and 1 white/purple wire.Where do I hook these too???I have no frigging idea.....I am so confused as to where the black/red wire on the f3 plug hooks into or what hooks to it.As for the fuel pump how is this supposed to be wired i know most of it stays s14 but what about signals for the pump from the engine??How is this hooked up right.

Also my pin 49 wire on the ecu was hooked to nothin...Where is this suppoed to go??If anyone can help this is a real special circumstance..it is now sunday and I need my car for work on tuesday so i guess it's gonna be all nighters for me.lol.

Thanks a millionKendal

I was talkign to Carl on AIM a little while ago...lol But I can't expect him to give away all his secrets,he is trying to sell these coversions now.But I will say even if he spoon fed every step to you it's still more worth it too have him do it cause it'll be much cleaner.

My downfall was I don't have the cash this month to send my 2 spare harnesses out,I had to buy tires for safety inspection.

But so far heres what I did manage.

I got my fuel pump to prime and turn off...woo hoo,I got the ecu powered up with the ignition, and I had 12v going to the coils with the ignition. Now I did have a wire jumpered from one of the orange wires on the relays and to the whole whack of wires that connect to the Black/red wire when I was trying to turn the car over I cooked this one wire then afterwards it was still fine, but I must have touched 2 wires together and fried the green fuse under the hood now I am SOL cause I have no more of these right now...:SBut other then the cold start everything was working the way it should be with the ignition power...but some wires I have right now as make shift have to be switched out for smaller gauge cause no doubt the reason that 1 wire fried is due to not enough resistence.I'm hoping once I get a fuse, and solder everything in and button it up,And connect the orange wire on the f3 plus to pin 43 on the ecu this baby will come back to life again.....and wired correctly.I hope.

Well the moment of truth came and I dunno if I am totally retarded or what but the damn car will not start.Heres how I have it wired up in case someone can shed some light for me maybe.

Ok the factory fuel pump relay is in tact in it's factory position with it's factory wiring, the fuse box under the hood has nothing wired to it.So I had a bit of a problem getting 12v switched to the black/red wire on my f3 plug...so I decided to test the wire going into the back of it...12v,with the plug plugged in the wire on the male plug was only getting 4-4.5v.So I just added as many wires as I thought I needed to the 12v switched source behind the f3 plug (black/red wire). Now according to my rb20 fsm the eccs relay and the ignition relay get ignition power from the white/black and orange wire on the eccs relay, and the white and the orange wire on the ignition relay .So first of all I have a spare harness or 2 and I decided to pull the proper color wires out of this to make the harness,in doing that I noticed that the orange wires from the 2 relays share the same wire along the way.So what I have done is wired the white wire on one relay to the black/red ignition power wire from the dash harness, the orange wire from 1 relay to that black/red wire, and one of the white/black wires off of the relay to the black/red wire. And then I patched the other white/black wire to pin 49 0n the ecu, which is control unit power supply. The guide to wiring this is kinda messed cause from what I have interpreted in wiring to the 2 white plugs from the rb harness is that the guide is matching wires from the female side of the plug which once the male plug is hooked in some of the wire colors change up.I have the 2 white plugs wired exactly as Wulfgangs guide says using this philosophy.I also have the orange wire on the f3 plug wired to pin 43 on the ecu for the cold start enrichment. My ecu has power,my coils have 12v,my pump was priming and turning off like it should but today it wasn't turning on at all unless I grounded out the black/pink wire comming off the relay...then it runs constantly.

Can anyone tell me what the hell is going on...this is not a general question this is a catastophy and I need to fix this asap...cause right now this car is all I have for work as stupid as that is.

Thanks a million Kendal

Alright I put a whole new (not so butchered)harness in yesterday, wired it exactly like Wulfgangs guide now the car behaves like I have the key in the ON position when I have nothing in the ignition at all...:S Fuel Pump Primes,12v to coils,12v to injectors,12v to CAS,ECU is powered. Now I said screw this and while all this was on I started to pull fuses to see which one would turn it off,I got to the 7.5A fuse for "Meter",part of the ignition system. So I went into my fsm and dug around and am kinda puzzed to what wire could be wrong or if a wire is wrong at all,I know the check engine light wire is part of this fuse and it is also something that is hooked up in the guide but it comes out at pin 22 which is a green wire, the guide says use pin 30 which is an orange wire, and the fsm says 22 is orange.....:SCould this be my problem do you think guys???I was talking to Carl last night and he thinks it could possibly be that my ignition switch is gone bad but it's sunday and i have nowhere to go where I can even get one to try.Any help is most appreciated guys.

Also on the body ground on the pass side there are a few unused wires...would I be better off patching all these to a wire as opposed to having them just sitting out htere?

How bout this can anyone explain to me exactly how the 2 green relays under the dash are supposed to be wired to a 95 240sx??I have the rest right including the wire on the fuse block under then hood....I just need these two relays to work properly...please help...the guide is too unspecific as to what I do to make these work.
