Good. I want to see her get knocked down.

She'll probably get back up again, though. You're never gonna keep her down.

Lord help us if she is sworn into office... Don't mind the candidacy so much.

Running for President will give her a position from which to advocate. I can't believe many people would actually accept her as a serious candidate.

Wouldn't matter. She'd quit anyway. She apparently has no desire to actually finish a task.

I don't think she'll run. The press has done their best to destroy her and then they complain that she only communicates through Twitter.

Oh, come on. It's not even her communicating through Twitter.

According to the investigative journalist in this interview, given the abrupt change in message, tone, and substance after the two joined forces, it's likely that Rebecca Mansour is Sarah Palin's ghost-twitterer/facebooker.

This is the article: Sarah Palin: The Sound and the Fury. The passage in question can be found on page 3 of 8.
And here's his response to the criticism of it.

What would be the significance of the answer to that question?

I'm sure you were dying to hear from HER and not her hot assistant. Point is who cares? It's on her Twitter page and her FB page ect. Who cares who actually typed the message? You can take it as if it came from her if that makes you feel any better.

I don't know who cares. I saw an opportunity to post a related story (that went into way much more than "who writes Sarah Palin's twitters;" it's an eight-page article and the part I described to you is explained in two paragraphs) and I took it. Read it; don't read it. Doesn't bother me.

Hmmmm.

Wonder if those who want to see her "get knocked down" are really as sexist as they sound?

I think they are. In fact, I'm certain of it. Bunch of misogynist hatemongers. Almost sounds like advocating violence against women, doesn't it?

It's a b**** when the shoe is on the other foot. All those who screamed "racism" for the past 24 months can kiss my a$$.

(disclaimer: IBC, I know better. But I'm not passing up an opportunity to jam you for saying something dumb... and while I'm not a critic of SP, I don't think the furor or concern over her is warranted - You critics actually appear "scared" of her. I certainly don't think she's ready for the Presidency - no more so than BO was.)

The reason cries of "racism" worked is because the guy's all eloquent and stuff. That and a lot of the cries that drew the "racism" claim were pretty outlandish. Secret Muslim, anybody?

When people get on Palin for being a bit less than well-endowed above the neck, I really don't think the misogyny will stick as well, because that condemnation will invariably be followed by further evidence.

So, it's ok to call her dumb, because she's dumb. Got it.

At this point, I think I'll take "dumb" over "insidious". The whole "do no harm" thing comes to mind.

see, i dont think she is dumb at all. NOT ONE BIT.

that woman is cold, calculating, and aspirational. if she wasnt queen derp, she'd be a woman after my own heart. She panders to her base, playing up gender poltics, and the common american grit. To write her off as dumb, as i have in the past, is really allowing yourself to subscribe to a very meticulously planned delusion. she is good is what she is. and she may bring the end of this country.

And that's not okay? I don't remember you protesting Obama 'playing up race politics'. Hm.

That's not really inconsistent with "dumb." She could be a con artist posing as unintelligent, sure. But that doesn't really matter, does it? I think the fundamental problem is that America likes dumb. Stebo once posted a thread, asking basically, "Where have all the speakers gone?" We voted them out.
AZhitman wrote:We'll be 20 years undoing the damage from THIS crackpot Administration. How much worse could she really be?
Even if we accept that this administration has has done 20 years of damage to this country's economy (if any at all), I've written before:

THERE'S MORE THAN THE ECONOMY AT STAKE

Which is similar to the problem with the way people promote "Tea Party candidates:"

THEY'RE GOING TO VOTE ON MORE THAN JUST THE BUDGET.

Fixed that for you. Some of us abhor it. One need only look at television to see that the lowest common denominator is being pandered to tirelessly.

I know you weren't. But where do people like Palin stand on things other than the size of government? If they have a position, I'd be curious if it isn't in conflict with their position on the size of government.

With the exception of actual libertarians, the Right only wants the money half of the government to be small. Small government position on abortion is pro-choice. Small government position on illegal immigration is to stop worrying about it. Small government position on illicit substances is decriminalization. Small government position on national defense is as small a force as is possible. Small government position on roads is let private companies pave and institute tolls. And so on and so forth.

Now, some of those might be undesirable, too, so we might be happy if they don't hold a strict small government position. My point is that nobody's bothering to ask those questions. Nobody's even bothering to ask why we're not asking those questions.

I wouldn't be so certain. Again, there's an assumption that the Right is dead-set against some social issues that, given the proper political environment, they'd actually favor a centrist/left-ish position on. I'm fairly sure of it.

Will we ever see it played out? Dunnno. I think the "missing link" is a lack of a unifying leader who speaks common sense on the right.

EDIT: Agreed 100% on your edits (while I was typing).
