So, what you're saying that violations of Int'l conventions and liberties with police powers are okay so long as the soldiers do it "professionally" - meaning that they aren't caught on tape laughing about it?
Look, I respect immensely that you were on the ground abroad in abysmal and unsafe conditions in defense of our country, but in that capacity, the soldiers are no different from municipal peace officers and we certainly would not let the LAPD crush the cars of looters, much less those in them, in riots here. The bottom line is that what was done was wrong in the context of police power. We are an occupying power, we have to set standards, not expamples, or we run the risk of futher alienating the populace and seeing more incidents of resistance than we already do.
