Ok, Ive checked compression, 150psi all around. (sr) I am loosing coolant, and I am sure there aren't any "normal" leaks. Anyone have any insight?

Yes, find where the coolant is going :)

Just kidding, Pressurize the system. If you can't find it that way, use dye. If you still can't find it, Have someone else look at it.

How much fluid loss are we talking about? Does it leak only when the car is running? If your water pump bearing has gone bad the water pump impeller will slowly eat away at the pump housing and cause the fluid to leak out the pumps weep hole (usualy located on the bottum of the pump), the pump wont make any diferent sounds and will act normal except for the fluid loss.

the losses are little but noticeable. after 600 miles overflow went from full to min. when the car is heating up or idleing less than 750, there is a slight high pitch squeal too.

Just take it up to one of the local shops, they will do a pressure test for you and tell you where it is leaking from. most of the time it is really cheep. at my shop we usually do it for free if not just for a few dollars.

the squealing noise sounds almost like air whistling through the motor. mabey a bad bearing?

You can also look behind the motor at the hoses that go to the heater core. They are often suspect in sr swaps.

If you can't find any coolant leaking out of the engine then it's probably leaking into the engine and vapourizing in the exhaust.I.e. through the Head Gasket. No real way to tell (unless it's real bad) except ruling everything else out.

i have been told to remove the spark plugs, compress the coolant system for a period of time, then crank the engine. if the head gasket is bad, the coolant will come out of the plug holes. i am to do this hot and cold. i will let you guys know how it goes, once i find a pressurizer for the coolant system. advandced doesn't carry them.

i also have a problem with my coolant leaking (setup: koyo radiator on stock sr20det)....before i was leaking coolant somewhere near my firewall passenger side ...but after a couple of days it stopped so i thought it was fine(pretty sure it's my heater hoses for that one) ....but like a month later... i see a little steam coming from my hood while driving to get some food, so i'm thinking damn! something's not right so i look under the car, it's raining coolant for a couple of secs. so i try to make it home asap driving under boost, but while driving home i can see the temp rise. luckily i made it back but damn....i'm thinking it's my water pump...i can see coolant leaking under the motor.. heh.. i have no idea what it is..yes i searched, and three things came up for the problem solving: water pump, t-stat, heaterhoses, but no one replied on other topics about the results after.

Check your coolant lines running to your turbo. Mine were leaking badly after replacing the manifold and turbo.
