Ok, so I was washing my car because there's hella bugs on the front from driving out in Buttonwillow, CA. And as I get to my fog lights, the driver side fog light was loose. The bottom part of it like pushed in. The passenger side is fine, it's just the drivers side. What do you think would have caused this? And how can I fix it? Thanks in advance...

not sure what might have cause it other than something bumping into it. however to fix it, just access the inside of the bumper and clip it back in. the fog lights have 2 mounting points, one screw at the top, and a clip on the bottom, so it probably unclipped. so either remove the bumper and push it in, or go under the car and remove the splash guard. since you're just pushing it back into place i'd suggest going via the splash guard route

I'm sure it was probably a rock or something that knocked it loose. You're lucky it was just that. My whole foglight had to replaced after a rock busted it

lol yea, so i took Blackmobile's advise. I jacked up my car and went through the splash guards, and turns out it did come unclipped. So I just pushed it back in, and now it's nice and tight. That was also the first time I worked under my car, so I was pretty excited about that also. ha ha ha. Good thing my bro has this soap to get off car oil and all that junk. lol

So ya, how it came undone, still a mystery. Considering that area's pretty much closed off and there's only a couple of small holes underneath near the fog light. And I doubt a small rock could have did that. So i agree, must be factory flaw. it's not like this would be their first flaw. =x

glad you got it fixed. nothing too hard to do, nice and easy like mac and cheesey

not sure if it's a factory flaw, might have been improperly installed right from the start, but i figure something must have pushed it out of the clip. you say you haven't hit anything before but that doesn't mean nothing has hit you! could have been as simple as someone doing a service on your car and put their knee into your fog light, or something flew into it while you were driving but not hard enough to break the light.

Simple explaination...

Someone was enjoying their Tennesee Wiskey a bit to much on the job and was a fail for a day or two.

you can go through the wheel well, but i'd recommend going through the splash guard, easier access IMO. just remove the 5-7 clips under the car that keeps the splash guard attached and the whole thing just falls down so you can see both of your fogs. instead of having to remove each wheel well. then again only one of your fogs is loose, so i guess you'd only have to remove 1, up to you. all i know is that when installing my hid's through the wheel well it was a nightmare trying to pry it back to get my grubby hands in there

I have the same issue on the passenger's side...no matter how hard I try to snap the light into the bumper, it easily pops out with very little pressure. I even tried swapping it out and the new light popped out just as easily. I tried putting a dab of silicone in the corners to see is "gluing" them in holds up better...time will tell.
