My passenger side fog lamp is loose. I must have hit a snow pile or something when we had snow last week. My fog lamp was dangling this morning and I lost the trim piece that's next to the lens. I stuck it back in the hole but it didn't click into anything. How do you secure the fog lamp? I looked at the FSM, but all you get is a useless exploded view. I did a search, but we all know how good that is. Doe's anyone here know how it goes together and does anyone have an extra trim piece they don't need? I guess a new one wont be that much money either, but I thought I'd ask.

theres 2 tabs with screws that hold the foglight in place. Im guessing the tabs have broken.

Brackets are about $30 $35 from Joe.

the plastic end lense inserts are pricey-one being more expensive than the other for some strange reason-both seem identical, yet reversed

Well, I saw that the bracket is cracked and I have to get a new one. I will order the part with Joe soon. I'm trying to disconnect the wire from the fog light and the connector is not coming loose. Is there any trick to doing this? This is my downfall in car repair because I always have a hard time disconnecting these connections.

Not that I recall, but that isn't much. Should be obvious on a lift with the splash shield removed.

Getting the bracket out is not fun, do wait until you have the new one.

What, I have to do this on a lift, and take the splash guard off? Screw that. I'll let my mechanic do it. I thought it could be done from the hole. I ordered the parts already. I'll give it a try but if it's too much of a pain, I'll pay someone to do it.

This thing is pissing me off. Yesterday morning, I was trying to disconnect the mother #@*%ing connector from the mother #@*%ing fog light and it wouldn't come off. That afternoon I was driving home and was going to drive my wife's car before the light fell out. What happens? The mother #@*%ing light falls out and the mother #@*%ing lens breaks. Now I have to order a new mother #@*%ing lens. Sure enough, on the side of the road, I get the mother #@*%ing connector loose. At least I dont have to pull out the duct tape out of the trunk. I'll get the lens and my mechanic will put it in. I'm sick of my Q. People here talk about getting the Q to "as new" condition. I think I know how to do it. Get a new car. Next month when I go to the NYIAS, I'm making a short list of cars I want to test drive. I'm done.

Louie, new car's foglights are susceptible to damage too. And I bet they cost as much or more to repair.

But I'll be spending it on a nice new car and not a 12 year old junker. Ther comes a time when to have to stop throwing good money into bad money and I'm getting to that point. And cut me a break. I'm just ranting.

By the way Brian, can I borrow your lift to fix my fog light. Since you tell people to use a lift, you must have your own.
