Loose air intake

97 gxe here, I have a stock intake box, but its very loose. The bottom of the box is only being held in by one bolt (out of three) and the tube that connects toward the bottom also is verrrry lose. Am I losing horsepower from these loose connections? Theoretically my engine shouldn't be getting the right amount of air being all lose and what not but I just want to make sure before I buy a CAI

The engine is going to be sucking in the required amount of air needed. In your case, it's a question of filtered air vs non filtered air.
