Turbocharged 6 banger, 560 hp, AWD for between $55K-$60K. Compare that to a $100K+ GT-R with a 7 yr old design, and I think Nissan just got a wakeup call.

I'll believe it when it see it. I'd wager it'll be more like $70k-$100k

Also, I DON'T WANT AWD in a sports car. So my care factor is nil.

And then it becomes a V8 incredibly overpriced and underwhelming super car.

its just another car out of my price range. It would be nice if its priced less than 60k, but not likely.

a 3.5 liter straight 6...that's a lot of cubes for an inline motor.

Hopefully they ditch the AWD, or maybe have it as an option. Less weight, less items to malfunction etc. I loved the MK IV and the MK III wasn't bad either.

I'm honestly more fond of the MKIII than the MKIV. I feel like the MKIII had more character and was more interesting for its time. But I love MKIVs too.

I really wish I had put in the wrench time on my MKIII and gotten it running again. That would have been a fun car.

Why cant car makers create something new instead of bringing back old legends. Its not and will never be the same as it once was!!!

My first car I purchased(with my own money) was an 89 MK3. Astounding how well those cars respond to basic bolt-ons.
First day I had it my friends and I took it out for a spin. It was raining. Let my friend drive. Came to an on-ramp on I-5, he gave it a bit too much gas, boost kicked in, and we did a 720 across all lanes of traffic.
After a couple grand in mods traded it straight across for an 88' 300zx Shiro Special. It was a good trade but I really miss that car...
Nowadays it is impossible to find cherry mk3's with no modifications and low miles.

Nothing is ever as it once was, even models that aren't canceled and brought back. Look at the differences between the Mk1, Mk2, Mk3 and Mk4. Each model is drastically different than the previous version. Keeping the Supra name is good for marketing as it comes with a well respected history.

If you did manage to find one I imagine it would be pricey.

I would take an MK4 before a MK3 in a heartbeat. Much better car. It was a shame that Toyota made the same mistake that Nissan made with the 300ZX. Great cars but they went too far away from the original successful formula and made them too big, too heavy and too expensive for their core buyers.

I understand the pursuit of better handling (cornering) and all, but If I were even remotely interested in buying a car I'd want something.. simple? Maybe something that's lightweight? Or maybe something I even think looks good (insert FRS). If the supra ended up looking like the renderings... It would be the first supra I honestly would not like the looks of. But what does my opinion matter? I'm still trying to like how the GTR looks, i'm not quite there yet. In the same token however, the GTR's performance makes it so that I don't care how it looks anymore. I wonder if the new supra will be able to take that 'mantra' if you would call it that. Overall, in my opinion it looks like the new jeep grand cherokee to me, and that is just undesirable.
Again I do state what does my opinion matter? I'm a person who honestly finds this=

attractive.

I'd rock that. Throw a VR6 engine in it, though.

I bet it would sell better if it kept the same basic shape. Itll be cool if the shape of the car was like the picture but with a completely different front because its ugly as hell.

Will someone please tell Toyota that no one ever liked clear tail light lenses? Please? Anyone? They don't seem bright enough to figure it out on their own.

When I'm Emperor I'm banning chrome.

As long as the tail lights are one single plastic housing they should be easy to tint or replace. As designs get more complex it may become harder and harder to remedy.
