Hello again, NICO RB forum! Some of you may remember me, I was on here up untill about a year ago. I purchased my RB25 clip in the fall of 04, and after a long time of saving and fixing crap I broke, I daily drove my RB25 S13 hatch for a year and a half or so.

At first I was having problems with my boost controller, and at the track I would his 15 psi pretty frequently... Which as it turns out the stock turbo doesn't like very much, cause I quickly burned out my turbo's oil seals and a compression test revealed no compression in cylinders 1 and 6. Around this time I had just bought me an '00 MR2 Spyder and I didn't want to shell out the thousands it would cost to get a new turbo and rebuild the engine, so I traded the car off for a POS 351 Mustang I ended up selling for chump change... Big mistake on my part there.

So anywho, fast forward about a year. The guy I trade with pulled the motor out of my body (which was primer on steel wheels with some bad spots) and had the wiring redone by some specialist, replaced it with a used stock turbo, and most importantly droped it in a S13 coupe, with all new poly bushing, coil overs, exhaust, 5 lug swap with Z32 brakes, VLSD, and Z33 wheels. He opted not to mess with the engine and drove it till it died on him on the highway not too long after, took it apart... Blown head gasket and the valve seals are shot.

So..YESTERDAY, he comes back to me and says he has a Camaro project already, has no interest in fixing the 240, and wants to sell it all as it sits for 3000. I tell him I don't want to buy the car twice, and I offer my Subaru SVX I've had sitting with a bad wheel bearing for months. Hes hesitent at first but hes offereing everything wheels and all for the car and a few hundred on top of it I can make in payments. I'm thinking he plans to trade my SVX and one of his other junk cars for this guys 06 Mazda 3 whos going through a divorse looking to lose it. He never comes out on the bottom of a deal...

So I'm wondering if I should go for this or not. I already sold it once because I didn't want the hassle of rebuilding it and that state hasn't changed. It is in a MUCH better platform than my old one, I would have been happy with just LSD on mine. I make a lot more money these days but I also have more debt and less time to work on a project, I'm either going to get it to resell or do a full rebuild for high boost if I take my time and stretch it out.

Looking for any imput you guys have, I would never have got my car running in the first place or even attempted without this forum so I know you are wise =)

I never race it, I daily drive it and enjoy the gas mileage... And the girlfriend loves a convertible lol.

The 240 was my first and only real project car, it ate me up to get rid of it in the first place and this is like my chance to do it all over again the right way.

I'm wondering now how much trouble it would be just to swap the motor for an RB26.

I'm in Huntsville, AL... Where are you located? At the time I did my swap I was the first in my area and I only knew of 2 or 3 others. It's becoming more common these days I guess.

The roth IRA thing made me actually laugh outloud.

Dude, if you miss the car get it. If your getting it thinking it will be more fun this time around... it may not be.

Its worth more than your SVX in parts IMO.
