I just bought a 96 240sx about 2 months ago and am looking into suspension upgrades first. what do ya'll think of the nismo suspension parts. they seem to be on the low end compared to the prises of some other brands but how do they hold up comparatively?

some of Nismos suspension parts are more replacement type parts.like the most of the bushings

Nismo carries a load of other susp upgrades that would basically almost replace everything thats there.

i wouldn't call them low end

my advice is to take a look at your bushings all around the car and find out whats going bad and replace that.

just some simple renovation work would be good susp. wise

but the car is a 96 so your bushings may be ok.. but completely depends on how the car was kept up.

I'm not really wanting to keep my old suspension. this car will be making a lot of hp in about a year and i'm looking for the best and fairest prised brand of suspension i can find. I'm asking because i'm new to the nissan world. what about kazama?

How much power are you talking about making?Whats the car going to be used for? Drift? Auto X? street?

If its simple street use you can opt for a nice spring and shock combo. and you can keep your 'comfort' sort to speak. But, if you wanna go all out and have it slammed then go with some coils.I wouldn't recommend that for street if you like ride quality, but you might be like some of the guys on here who don't mind it.

Look up a company called wicked tuning or something like that, I've heard lots of good things about them and they have fair pricing, you can go Kazama if you're a baller like that.

just do some shopping around and read some reviews, your bound to find something you like.

BTW, Welcome to Nico.

Your best bet is to do some research, there a lot to good reputable companies out there, and how big your pockets are. Also check out the sponsors here on Nico, they can help you out.

i have heard that all nismo suspension parts are made by JIC. don't know how true that is but just letting you know that's what i was told. might be a slightly cheaper way to go

Just do a whole suspension overhaul (Energy Master bushings set, coilovers, front sway car, and strut bars, tension rods, toe rods, RUCAS, etc.) and be done worrying about it. Trust me, it's the best thing you can do, suspension wise. Start FRESH!

moving this conversation to the suspensions forum... (where it belongs )

btw, to the OP... just keep in mind, if you do decide to go with coilovers to dramatically lower your car, a bushing swap (and nismo replacement arms) aren't going to cut it. You're gonna need adjustable arms.

would i still need adjustable arms with a set of kyg agx struts and eibach springs which would lower about 2 to 2-1/2 inches? or would i be wasting my time with a setup like that as far as racing goes?
