Shame on you for not searching first. Now that we have that out of the way...Welcome to NICO.

I'll answer your questions:

First, there's no such thing as swapping a "KA" with an "S-13". I assume you want to swap in a redtop SR. "KA" is the engine family name, and "S13" is the chasis code. Apples and Oranges. This has been done thousands of times and you must search to find out all of the details associated with this type of engine swap.

Consider what you want to use the car for before you go through the trouble of doing an engine swap. SR swap isn't the only option available.

"Bump" is just something someone will post, to move the thread to the top of the list.

PM me if you have more questions...AFTER you have searched.

edit: Oh yeah, to your original question, is there any trouble? YES!

S13? You mean redtop or black top, correct?

S13 SR will bolt up to the s14 but the wiring's different. You have options like sending it off to get the harness work done by a shop like HeavyThrottle.

Again, consider your goals for the car. I have a 96 S14 and I decided on the S14 blacktop.

If you get really into it, you might decide you want an RB (skyline engine) or a CA.

Go to enjuku.com or some other NICO sponsor and you'll find all kinds of info on this stuff.

Also, where are you located? You'll probably want a good shop in your area to do the work.

im leaning towards the s14 black top, just out of curiosity, in my searching, i ran across someone who was putting a vg30dett in an s-14... what all would that take?

Alot more work than an SR. Custom fabrication of various coimponents is a must. If you are learning, stick with the basic SR swap.

I second that. I have the S14 blacktop and its quite potent. Check out my cardomain page for a bit more info. Click the picture in my sig.

Again I ask you, where are you located?

I was hoping you were in Tampa...then I could show you what an S14 SR in an S14 chasis can do!

There's got to be good shops in SA,TX. Anybody here know of any?

You could always take a trip South East to Tampa!

s13 blacktop motor is good too. you can see mine in a 1995 240sx if you click on my sig. wiring is the only "hard" part about the swap. if you dont like messing with it. send it off several of the sponsor do the work for you.

Nice list of mods on that site. What kind of power does it put down? Also how do you like the clutch and the flywheel?
