You want half the drivers, smaller enclosure and you want more bass? Oh and better yet, you don't want to spend outrageous amounts of money? Can't be done.
Let's talk simple physics.Sound is created by compression/decompression of air. To make a lot of sound, you need to compress a lot of air. Going from 2, 12's to 1, 12 means you have half the surface area available to compress air. To compensate for half of the surface area, you now need twice the throw (the distance the speaker moves in and out of the box) 1/2 * 2 = 1So you're now looking for a more capable subwoofer to give you the same performance = It's going to cost more.
You also want a smaller box which means your subwoofer will be less efficient, so you now need more power to give you the same amount of bass as you had with a bigger box = It's going to cost more.
You also want even more bass than you had before = It's going to cost twice as much.
So let's do the math
It's going to cost more+It's going to cost more+It's going to cost twice as much=---------------------------Lot's of money because you're going to need an expensive sub, expensive amp and an upgraded altenator to fully power your expensive amp.
Scenario A: You can put a bigger box in your trunk. Cost for a noticeable amount of more bass ~150
Scenario B: You can have a box half the size of what you have now. Cost for a noticeable amount of more bass ~1200-1400 using nothing short of a JL W7 driver.
Oh did I mention I don't like JL because they have a horrible performance/cost ratio. However, big bass in a small box screams W7.
