Python881xp by DEI. remote start, starter kill, shock sensor, optional proximity sensors, paging remote to tell you which channel got triggered, etc. Kinda pricey though.

Sorry to dig up this old thread, but I figured I would jack it instead of starting a new one. How tough is it to install a remote car starter? I am pretty competent at wiring, but I just wanted to know if it was worth the effort to do it myself. Some places can charge a ridiculous amount for hooking it up for you. The one I am looking at has roughly 20 connections. How long would it typically take? Thanks.

I put one in my girlfriends Neon. It was a pain in the *** cuz there was no room under the dash. I couldnt find a pair of wire strippers so that made it a little more difficult. If you can fit under the dash pretty well it shouldnt be too hard.

Her car is an automatic but to put one in a stick you would probably have to alter the clutch switch somehow or take it out all together. But then you have to make sure you always leave it in neutral with the e/brake on, that way you dont try to start it in gear.

I went with Bulldog Security

alright, so I will get ready for a tight squeeze, arm myself with the right tools, and get on it. I guess a multimeter wouldn't hurt either. Thanks.

Most remote start systems are not 5 speed safe. The Clifford Intellistart4 is 5 speed safe. It must be added to a Clifford G5 model alarm. There are a few to choose from. I have owned/sold safe remote start on manuals since 1999.
