New M37x owner, 2013 with 21k miles. Loving the car so far and already planning on my modifications.

So my M has many shiny bits, door handles, etc. I've seen a few pictures online with body colored door handles and no chrome around the windows. Is this a package (sport?) or are people wrapping with vinyl?

Looking to get away from the shiny bits but was wanting to see how others got there.

Thanks in advance for any help!

I have a Sport model. They're chrome too. I'd say get them vinyl wrapped to match the body color

I met a guy at a McDonald's that wrapped all of the chrome on his Q50 with black vinyl. It looked pretty sweet, but very expensive. He said he paid about $700 to have it wrapped.

You might check into Plasti-Dip as well. It is supposedly cheaper than vinyl. I think I heard they have some new products that have a more glossy appearance. I haven't used it myself but I saw some professionally applied results that looked very good.

Nice comparison here. http://topgearjobs.com/blog/plasti-dip- ... ally-cost/

You wrapping the whole thing? Or just the "shiny bits"?

We're doing the entire car in matte grey with the shiny chrome bits wrapped in satin black.

Nice! Looking forward to some pics. How long does it take them to do the whole car?

A week. When I dropped mine off they were finishing up a Bentley bentayga. Was wildly surprised that a 230,000 car had cheap plastic accents (I.E. grille and various body accents) on it.

So I went the vinyl route, only shiny bits. Tedious process and will post pictures when done. Got distracted with springs, exhaust and stereo install..Paparadox, that looks fantastic...
