Looking to buy- What to look out for.

My girlfriend is looking to get a mid sized sedan and I suggested getting a Altima. Her budget is around $3000 and I found a 95 with 50k on it for 3500. I think I can get him down to 3000 cash or so. Anywho, is there anything to look out for? Known problems? Thanks in advance.

the 2 biggest problems w/ first gens is leaking power steering fluid, which in turn destroys the right control arm bushings.

and there is a seal on the exhaust cam that goes bad and lets engine oil into the distributer. If these problems check out, youve found yourself a great car.

50k is very low miles. It all depends on the seller if he is willing to negotiate with the price or not. Id offer him that and see what becomes of it.

I wrapped mine around a pole I fixed it and it still didn't give me a problem.

thats really low miles overall to me it is the best car that i have ever driven as far as anything that you g/f is looking for. certainly one of the most dependable cars i've ever heard of. example.

2000 altima 184k miles running on n2o for the past 30k miles and is still running as strong as it was the day that i first drove it.

I see that its been a few days. How goes the car search? Was that Altima worth picking up? The price sounded pretty good.
