Im looking to purchase a Nissan 350z, I just need to know some basicsI need to know i saw the 2003 and 2004 models all the way up to 07, and they haven't changed much threw the years. I want to make sure i have all my bases covered. Which model is the best and why, also is there any particular reason id want an o4 over an 03 etc........Thanks

Welcome to Nico!with only 5 models years of 350Z as yet not much has changed, biggest change is in power, the 07 has a slightly different engine, the 03-04 was 287 hp, 05-06 were 300hp and 07 now has 306 hp with a slightly higher redline

my personal feeling is that if you want to modify something heavily, get an early car, and build it the way you want it, the track models and on 07 the GT model have the slightly better brakes (brembo's) but they are only slightly better than stock, all models except for the base model got a VLSD, find for street but if you want to do any competitive driving then you'd want to upgrade to a clutch type anyhow

tell us more about what you want in a car and what you plan to do with it

I have been drving an RSX Types-S for the past 5 years, until I traded it in for my Z. I loved my 02RSX, great gas mileage and it was quick and then the 05RSX came out improved everything (all the little problems). The main reason I got an 07 was the package and the improvements. all 06 and 07s have L.E.D. tail lights and Bi Xenon headlightsnew front fascia. The interior was also updated. You get standard 18 inch wheels so your bigger brakes would fit. And for the 07s you get an 80% new engine. got to http://www.http://VQ35HR.com for info... A larger diameter exhaust and you cant underestimate the redline "7,500" I suggest test driving all of them. Imagine the twin Turbos in a 07s twin intake system ....if you plan to mod get an old one, if you dont 07s are the way to go. or if you have the money get an 07 and wait for the turbo kits.
