Hi,

I am planning to buy a used 2007 Infiniti G35 Sedan G35x (NAVIGATION) (PREMIUM PKG) (AWD) with 13,000 miles. Car is in very good condition and is listed at $26,000. Is this a reasonable deal? Clean carfax record - 1 owner, off a lease etc.

This is NOT from a Infinity dealer, so it's not a CPO car. I plan to get the 7yr/100k Elite Infinity warranty for about $2000 on the car. I plan to get the car checked from a Infinity dealer (pre req for the warranty).

Is this a "good deal"? What should be my "negotiation" price. Anything else that I will have to look into? :ohno:

Please advice. Thanks in advance for your inputs.

Regards
Nick

That seems to be $1k under kbb, depending on your location. But seems like a good deal. Would just try to get them lower if possible, maybe offer 24,500 and see what happens.

May want to spell Infiniti correctly or catch hell.

Apologize for the spelling mistake.. I have been outed as a noob :-)

This car is in Washington DC. I have test driven 2007 G35x before, but I will be test driving this specific car on Friday. Is there anything specific that I need to keep in mind?

Nick

Would look to see if there are any maintance records or if you can find records through a dealership.

Only thing that first pops into my mind is the oil consumption issue. But no real way to know if it has it than to drive and check afer a couple weeks.

oil consumption issue?? I am not familiar with that? What is it? What are the implications? Is that issue specific to the 2007 G35x?

Just that some of the VQ engines (in almost any model) sometimes use oil between oil changes. If you search oil consumption you will see quite a few examples. It was more common with 05-08 engines I believe, but not everyone had it. Believe there may be some fixes and in some cases the engine was replaced.

I was under the impression that the oil consumption issue was only with MANUAL transmission G's....

I'm thinking that $26K is a wee bit over priced, but it does have very low mileage.
I would be more concerned about the maintenance history and less on spending $2K for an extended warranty.

You will have no oil consumption issue on the 07 x our engine. Only problem they have is the grill is pitting sometimes, door trim pitting easily around the switches. They mostly get replacedunder warranty since they were manufacturing issue. Had keyfob recall. They were saying the fob were interfairing with cellphones. Had update for the ECU for smoother ride. Basically some people don't like the take off in the car. The throttle was really sensitive.

Hope this helps.

Thank you all for your inputs. I could not resist myself and bought the car. Absolutely love it :-)

Now for the following:

1. fob and ECU recall - how do I go about checking if it was taken care of or do I need to take the care to a dealer.

2. I did notice that the door beading was a little loose i.e, water dripped in when I opened the door once - is that what you meant by door trim pitting ..?

3. The previous owner had lost 1 of the fob keys. So I just have one. I need to get 1 more for my wife. How do I go about getting this at a reasonable cost?

4. How do I upgrade the car Navigation DVD?

Once again, thank you all for your inputs. It was very helpful in my purchase decision. Hopefully the "buyer's remorse" won;t be too bad tomorrow :-D

In all seriousness, I LOVE THIS CAR..

Regards
Nick

Congrats.

1, You can call the dealer and they can tell you from the vin # if the recall was done or not. Also if you open the fob there should be a circle inside indicates that is a new revised fob.

2, No the door trim is around the window switches the black plastic pc. On the original it feels soft silicone touh the replacment and the mid 08+ are harder plastic to hold up better.

3, You can get one from the dealer or from online and get the dealer to program it. You can't program it like you could of don it on previous generation G's.

4, You can buy upgrade disc from the dealer.

Enjoy your ride.
