Looking to buy. Any advice?

Hi guys,

My wife's car died so we are looking at used vehicles. We test drove some Rogues and really liked them. Going to look at a used 2011 Rogue SL/Premium package one today from a private party. The only issue I see from the ad is that it has a few more miles than we were hoping for. 74k. Price seems fair at $16,400 from what I can gather online. Is that too many miles though? Are we crazy to consider one with so many miles? Or do they really hold up as well as advertised? ie minmal maintinence, last 250k miles, makes you better looking, and all of the other dealer sales pitches?

I've got a standard checklist for inspecting a car from a private party. I'm not a mechanic, but I do some of my own repairs. Is there anything I should particularly look out for on the Rogue?

Any advice or feedback is greatly appreciated and I look forward to hopefully becoming part of the club!

Pay a lot of attention to the trans operation. If you are not familiar with CVT transmissions, it might seem strange, but be on the lookout for any slipping, excessive noises or erratic shifting.
