So, like the title says, I'm a Z32 owner looking to buy an S-chassis car to complement my Z. I'd like to stay in the Nissan sport family, so the S-chassis sounds like a good idea to me. Just wanted some input from the guys that really know the cars on what I should look for when I go for the test drive and what a fair price should be. Thanks in advance guys!

Oi oi... You live in Cali... beware the drift tax! Even though the Z32 is of obviously higher build quality, the S-Chassis often sells for higher prices than an N/A Z.

Besides that, look out of rust. These things get it bad. Might not be a big problem so long as you stick to looking at Cali cars or cars from other dry temperate places...

All of the models are pretty similar. Just pick one that strikes your fancy and go for it...

Haha, trust me, in the San Joaquin valley, there really isn't a big tuner scene, so I'm finding N/A Z32's for 3K in pretty darn good condition, and I just found 2 KA 240's with decent mileage for 1K... But I'll definitely keep an eye out for rust. What about engine/drivetrain/interior? Anything I should be aware of there?

Some basics...

Engine: The '89-90 models come with a single cam KA24E. '91-98 come with the dual cam KA24DE. Find pics and familarize yourself with these 2 motors. Oh and research "KA24DE Timing chain guard knock" before you start your hunt.

Drivetrain: Don't be scared to buy an auto 240. We be swapping in manual transmissions and different motors like crazy.

Interior: I think most ppl agree the the '91 s13 had the best interior with it's all black carperting. But I'm really partial to the super rare brown interior from the '89-90 models. Brown interior just says VIP to me...

Hey, thanks man. I was looking in the stickies but I guess I missed that link. That's pretty much everything I wanted to know. I'll get some pics posted up if I decide to take the leap into the S-chassis world

Here's some advice...get out while you still can.

But seriously if you're in CA then rust is probably not an issue, but if you modify it at all you will be hassled by the cops.

Haha, I've already been hassled by the cops for my Z32's exhaust, which is pretty quiet to begin with... I think they're just jealous that our cars (S's and Z's alike) sound better than their trucks do
