Looking to buy an m35X

My 01 Maxima GLE has seemed to conk out on me. I really want to stay in the VQ game as they are very nice smooth engines. I have seen a nice 2007 m35x with 115,000km (71,000 miles) for $8000 cad (around 6200 usd). Car sellers says it is mint and has had all maintenance done. Looks clean from the pictures. Do these cars have the same rust problems the 5th gen Maximas do (quarters and rad support). Oil burning issues? What am I looking for when going to inspect it and what should i be thinking of doing maintenance wise if I buy it?

That's low miles and a good price. If it checks out, scoop it up!

I can't say my 07 M35x had any of those issues. The only issue it had was the driver seat bracket was weak so the seat would move under heavy acceleration or braking. Other than that, my 07 ran till 140kmi without a single issue.

Maintenance is the same as any other car. Fuel, oil, filters, etc. I had two Maxima's before my 07 (97 GXE and 99 SE), I didn't change my maintenance at all.

Thank you for speedy reply and welcome! I love the 97 and 99 Maximas, 4th gen my favorite hands down! If I ever get back into the Maxima game, which I hope to one day it will be with a 4th gen! I've heard nothing but good things about the m35x! Hoping the car checks out and maybe even bargain him down a bit but id be happy to dish out the 8k for a beautiful piece of machinery! Cheers!

I did the DVD Nav BY pass, so you can watch DVD's while car is in motion, has all the options including upgraded bose speakers (speakers in both passanger and driver head rests), and lane departure warning

I also changed both grills in the front and put xenon HID FOG lights kit.

Also just changed all the brakes, rotors, spark plugs, filters - always do synthetic oil changes

Good to see a fellow Canadian! I'm from Ajax ON so probably relatively close to you. I wouldn't be interested in the DVD Nav by-pass at the moment but would definitely go for some HID fogs! Thanks for the maintenance tips!
