does brand matter? I know I am getting an used momo steering wheel, but a new momo hub will cost about 60$ shipped

should I also look into quick release at the same time? how secure are they?

I guess general feedback/experience will help

i'm not too sure about the cheaper version of the hubs but i've tried the before and after of a car with a momosteering wheel/momo hub and an l2 quick release/spacer

it felt pretty good and wasn't insecure at all. but the quick release costs a lot of money i dont think it's really that necessary for safety because most likely youre gonna leave the steering wheel in the car anyway so if thieves come theyll just look around. i think kill switches are sufficient but it might be cool to show off the quick release though lol

There are some nice 12 hole hub floating around ebay. I replaced my NIsmo with a JDM Boss hub with 12 holes so that I can choose or switch to whatever 6bolt pattern steering wheel without worrying if it'll fit or not. If you're planning on getting a quick release (ie, L2, NRG), get a shorter hub.

I like my momo hub and NRG quick release. The hub was expensive and the quick release was decent for what I paid for it. I don't think you want to skip on brand name. Nothing like your steering wheel vibrating loose on the highway. It happened 2 weeks ago to my friend coming back from formula D in chicago.

Unless you are a hardcore Auto X racer and need to jump out of your car when it catches fire or something it's pretty pointless to go with a quick release hub. I bought a JDM Boss Hub from ebay for about $32 shipped and it fits my Nismo steering wheel perfect. They are very sturdy and I have been running it for over a year and had no problems with it at all. IT will take some finess and patience to get the horn working but the results are worth it cuz damn that air bag oem steering wheel is heavy and ugly. Well this applies to an S14 though.

I recently got one of those ebay hubs and it worked out great. I used it with a spw steering wheel.
