New to the Board.

Couple of questions.
I live in Minnesota and I would use the coupe as my daily commuter. If I put snow tires on and some weight in the back would the coupe handle alright in the snow?

Also, could I get all year around tires that would suffice or would it be better to buy snow tires for the winter?

I have found a couple of Coupe online.

One was a 2004 with only 16X miles on it but the seller wants 20500. I tried to get him down but he is firm on the price. That's a lot of years on the car, but he has all the main records. I think kelly Blue book at it 18,500.

Thanks,

Steve

Welcome!

No the G35 is very light. With snow tires it should do ok. But it is a car, and a truck would be your best bet. You may have a hard time controlling the car in the snow because it is very light. They do handle great, but my experience only comes from being on Ice, not in snow. I would purchase a set of Snow Tires. a set of Bridgestone Blizzak's are what most G owner's run during the winter time.

20,500 is a high price for an 04, very high. You can purchase an 08' model for that price. Plus, the 04-07 G35's some have Oil Consumption issues. You want to be fully aware of this while considering this vehicle.

Keep shopping around. I bought my 08' for 25,990. And its a 37 5AT Sport!

I would vote no on the G coupe as a daily commuter in Minnesota. I was in G coupes for 8 years 6 as my only vehicle(03 G35 and 08 G37). While I never put snow tires on them since we only got maybe 2 significant snowfalls per season, The G coupe is the most worthless vehicles I have owned in winter conditions. I live on a deadend street and would be stranded until I shoveled out the driveway and the neighbors in their SUV's and trucks knocked out a path to the main street. Then it was not smooth sailing as I ended up highsided at least twice and the underside of the car got beatup until some melting took place. The G coupe is a wonderful car but not the ideal vehicle for snowy climates :nono:
