Looking to Buy a 300zx. What to check for when shopping for one.

I am going to drive three hours to go look at an 89(z31) 300zx turbo(130000K miles) this saterday. When i get there is there any particular thing i need to check. I have a 89 240sx and i am going to trade it in and 1K for the turbo 300zx. Is the 300zx faster than a stock 240 with the sohc ka. Should take off the charge pipe and check the wheel play. Is there any notorious problems with the car that i need to know about before i buy it.

no it is in northern indiana. here is a pic. when i told the guy my 240sx and 1k i thought he started to laugh. Man i hope he calls me back. Is the 300zx turbo faster than a stock 240sx?

Good luck on it. Its definately faster and more fun to drive than a stock 240.

whats the asking price on the Z31? it looks real clean but with 130k I'd expect no more than 3-4k tops! and I have no idea what a 240sx is worth, I've seen decent running cars from $500 to 15k

the z31 turbo is much faster. pulls very well.

The turbo is mounted very low and hard to get to to check for play. Z31.com is a great site and has all the info you need.

I am dissapointed.....i didnt get the car. He wanted my 240 and 2.5k.All i could offer him was my car and 1K. The difference between the two is about 900 dollars. All i can hope for is that he will call back a reconsider.
