I am looking to buy a 1990 240 sx that needs work and I was wondering if it is worth doing. So here'she skinny on the car1990 240 sx se190 kilometers on the clock5 speedneeds tiresPaint very fadedCar quite solid from the rear wheels forwardthe bottom of the rear quaters behind the rear wheels is rusted out. Hatch rusted underneath rear spolilerYou can see the jack falling through in the backrear bumper dented

Purchase price $1000 -1500 Canadian

Anyways just wondering if it would be good to buy this and restore it or would it be better and cheaper just to spend more on a better exmple

Thanks:)

Car: rebuild cars

Post

if you are a handy man, then is salvage title would stop you from build one? In my opinion its cheaper that way. There was this 95 240sx w/ 100K Miles that went for $650 at the salvage lot. The only thing wrong was the hood had a little dent, front drivers side fender, drivers door and rear quarter panel was scraped on the side. My buddy that I usaully buy my rebuildable off from didn't know I wanted the car. So I tracked down the dealer who bought it and found out that he was actually taking the car aparts and sell it for parts. It is sad to hear that a nice sports car gets ripped into pieces. An older model 89-93 (salvage) usaually goes for around 200 to 350 US dollar around here. Normally just little dent. So I think the car your looking at is kind of too high.

Get a 91+ with the twin cam engine (KA24DE)

If you can see rust on the outside, its gonna be alot worse once you try to do something about it.

My 91 had the hatch/spoiler rust. It didnt look that bad from the outside. When I finally took the spoiler off, I had to cut two 4-5" holes out of my hatch to remove all the rust.
