I would just like to know what peoples opinions are on the car, also manual or auto?

There are some issues with the 03's, tire feathering, brake dust problems, and even engine oil consumption problems.

As with any used car, make sure you take it to a mechanic before buying.

As for manual or auto, get the 6MT. They usually come with the aero kit installed and upgraded brakes.

What year is the best year to get a G35 Coupe if the 03's have issue's?

I think they fixed it in 04 or even 03.5....your safe if you can get the 05 IMO.

I went with the 05 because the stereo is more to my liking, and it was easier to find a low-mileage coupe. For the 06, the spoiler is ugly (to me), but the seat-belts are better...plus bluetooth is standard.

So are the 03's out of the question, or is there a possiblity of fixing the problems with the 03?

The only ones i can afford to purchase is an 03. With my school bill i cannot get a newer one. So in my case is getting an 03 a waste of time, as in too many issue's?

The 03 was the first model year, so of course it will have more problems than other years. I say go for it, its still a very nice car. Just be careful, and look up the carfax history on the VINs you're interested in.

I would get either an 03 or 04 auto after checking it out closely.(check all cars out closely).....I would only get an 03 manual after taking it out and going thru the gears ****fing quickly in the hi RPM range to check the synchro's......If it checks out, I would buy it. I think that's where the problem is with the 03's.

My 96 cobra is known for the same problem, but I checked it out before buying it and (knock on wood), haven't had any issues. It has 82K miles. However, if you're intending on being rough with it, you might want to go with a 04.

i did not know that the 03's are that bad, i thought as long as i take care of the car, i shouldn't have any problems.whats the difference between the 03,04,05?

Conio...I think the major difference is (and I am by no means an expert) that the '05 doesn't have brembos and slightly higher hp. Don't let the reviews of an 03 scare you -- take everything into perspective. The G is still an awesome car, not matter the year, and should get you far if you take care of it. Just check it thoroughly, like the other guys suggested, and you should get a good one.

Maybe some of the other 03 owners could chime in and give you a better idea of how things are going with that model year.

Well guys, i wanna say thanks for all the info. I am still gonna go after a 03 G35 Coupe with the sport package. So all i would need to do is change the break pads on it and all should be well.

Thanks again everybody

If there is any more input, please tell me.
