I am looking at buying a 2007 Quest. I don't know very much about these vehicles so i was hoping people here could chime in and get me your experiences. What are the common issues that these have? The van has 134000 miles on it so i am a bit worried that something might come up in the near future. Thanks in advance!

Welcome aboard!

Personally, I'm a fan of the previous-generation Quest. While the Sienna and the Odyssey stole most of the limelight, the Quest was quietly a solid choice in that segment. The ubiquitous VQ35DE engine is great, and most folks report tons of trouble-free miles.

However, the one you're looking at is right around the "scary mileage" mark. No, that doesn't mean it's too high. What I mean by that is this: Lazy (or too-busy) minivan owners who don't maintain their vehicle properly, start seeing minor issues crop up around 100-120k miles. THey panic, thinking it's on it's last legs, and bail for a newer model. Unfortunately, they've left ALL the preventative maintenance and upkeep for you, the unsuspecting new owner.

If it has a FULL service history, and you can get it for KBB private party $, then it's a good purchase.

Otherwise, you might be buying some scatterbrained soccer mom's castoff old van. :(

WEll that is nice to know. Thank you. In the ad they said they just put in a new chain, new pulley, new radiator and new water pump. All with service records so maybe they arent too negligible.

There was also a 2004 Quest i was curious about. Does that fall into the same model year as the 2007's? I heard there was a lot more problems with the 04's since that was the first year they came out with the newer style.

Don't do it , I bought a 2007 with 50,000 miles on it and it turned into a nightmare . The rotors kept warping, the wheel bearings went bad. Motor mounts were changed 3 or 4 times. The high pressure power steering house had to be replaced. Rear brakes would go bad in less than a year . I finally got rid of it after two years when the transmission started getting clunky. I lost out on a few grand trading it in but it was worth it .
