We found an 05 Anaversary Edition that we are considering. No experience with Nissan so what problems or issues can be expected, what should I look for.

The car has less than 60k miles and the engine was replaced under warranty in last few months.

I love my Z so I highly recommend it. No problems that I know of with the 05 models. An engine swap at 60k miles is a little unusual. I'd pull the string on that and find out why.

60k does sound unusual. I hear of people all the time running their Z's 100k+ miles with the usual maintenance, but no real problems. If my memory serves me correctly, the VQ engines were designed with 250k in mind? If someone with more knowledge wants to correct that please, and thank you. If you find the swap wasnt anything major then I say go for it. I love getting into my Z every time. Exhilarating, is the word I'm looking for.

Good luck with whatever you decide!

The '05 Track and 35th Anniversary models have the RevUp engine that has often had an oil consumption issue. I have ZERO doubts that's why the engine was replaced. The oil consumption is a combination of the ring and the finish on the cylinder walls.

I'd keep in close contact with the dealer and make sure that you check the oil more frequently than normal. You should also check and see if the the oil consumption of the second engine has been monitored.

Mine just rolled over 70K with no issues to speak of. I had a low oil pressure issue for a while when I used Castrol instead of Mobil1 a while back, but once I switched back its been fine (No more thinking with my dipstick!).

Are you buying it from a private party or a dealer?

Replaced due to oil consumption. New engine has less than 1k miles and under warranty.

The car is bone stock and in excellent condition.

i too have a 05 anniversary, but mine is the oddball that didn't come with the HR motor, or the nav unit. we have had ours for a year now, and put over 30k miles on it without any problems except the airbag warning light having to be reset a couple of times. this is my wifes daily driver, and our highway car. ( i work 300 miles from home) we have never had any oil issues with ours, and on the advice of my mechanic we swithed to mobile 1 oil also. we LOVE our Z, and plan on having it in the family for a long time.

We purchased the car. I was out of town when my son bought it so I did not have a chance to inspect it first. Now that we have the car I did note an issue with tire wear. Inside of all 4 tires warn. Appears to be an aggressive negative camber issue. What experience do others have?

Car is very nice by the way, paint is very clean and no body damage, not even a door ding. Interior is like new. Engine has 1k miles on it.
