Newbie here. would like to add a couple upgrades to my 07:

Has anyone added these items to your S model? Has anyone used a factory kit, if available?

No factory kit for either that I know of.

May be some aftermarket for the cruise, otherwise would be a big pain in getting parts and then wiring.

Remote start shouldn't be an issue with an aftermart alarm.

thats what I was thinking....it would be nice to plug and play, with factory wiring etc. but I guess I'll look to the close auto accessories shops. Thanks

Having the same issue, would like to add cruse controlee to my 07 versa s and well I got my hands on the factory manual for the 07 versa and read through the diagnostic section on the Automatic Speed Controlee Device (ASCD). Everything is controlled by the main computer, from looking at my own car (07 s) all necessary switches and sensors are there except the steering wheel controls. Based on what I read in the diagnostic section for the steering wheel switch (DTC P1564 ASCD STEERING SWITCH) it’s just a very simple series of resisters with momentary switches between them to short them out. I built and tested the circuit for about $10 using off the shelf parts from radio shack. At this point I have everything built and tested using a multi-meter but I can’t seem to figure out how to disassemble the steering wheel to get at the wiring harness to test the damn thing. So, does anyone know how to get the steering wheel off?

was just informed today by a local accessories dealer/installer, that while researching the install of the remote start system, it was red-flagged for a TSB for a fuel system issue, and he wouldn't install a system on my car because of it. I am pretty leary about having someone tap into the system now.

TSB is for fuel pump and/or regulator, nothing that should stop a person from putting in a remote start system.

I own an 09 S sedan. I have a remote Start on my car. However I paid extra in 09 for cruise so I can't help you there. I am however gonna try to add audio controls this Sunday. Ive got a factory leather wrapped wheel with cruise and audio buttons arriving Friday. From my understanding behind the wheel there are two holes covered by caps on each side of the wheel. Take the caps off, and from my understanding stick something long that fits in that hole on both sides, and the airbag should pop off. Then from there you should be good. Just make sure before doing any of this you disconnect the battery and wait a good 20 mins to be safe. Hope this helps.....

Heres my start up on youtube, check it out!!!

Has anyone had any success with just replacing the steering wheel with one that has the switches. You can get them from junkyards for about $50

I saw these and am going to give them a shot for cruise control. There is an audiovox vacuum operated version, but since the acceleration is data to wire, it won't work. These say they tap into the CANbus of the car and "talk" to it and allow cruise operation.

I think it's a repackaging of this http://www.xpresskit.com/product.aspx?productid=56

Also, you'd need a transponder override module in order to get a remote start to work. check out the manual on http://www.xpresskit.com/product.aspx?productid=447

Bringing this back, yea to remove the steering wheel there are plastic dust caps on either side of the wheel remove those and the air pag comes out, however 2 things as someone said make sure you disconnect the battery before any of this is done, there is a little harness on teh airbag which is super delicate I found so becareful.

I want to add cruise control into my 07 versa but I am not much of a electrical guy is there some kind of walk thru instructions for this? pictures would be the best!

Thanks
and yes I saw the date on the previous postings haha
