Looking into buying a hatch with high milage

Hi im soon to buy a hatch, and the cluster says 260k miles but the guy said he swaped the high milage dual cam for anther dual cam with lower miles. He said the motor now has 130k miles, my question is ... is there anything i should maby check out? about the miles? things i should worry about. And another question is do these motor have a vin number on them so i can see if the motor was swaped or not?

Ok, The car has 260k miles. Guarentee'd. Without any paperwork, or any pictures etc, it will have 260k miles. Everyone who sales 240's, who are kids, to other kids, will always say the motor was "rebuilt" or, "I swapped it for a lower mileage motor" I see it happen all the time. I was sold a car under the impressions the whole motor was rebuilt. It was not. Only the head and up was replaced.

Do not jump on this. It has a lot of chassis mileage which is bad. I bought a chassis with 272k on it, worse mistake ever. Ya my motor was rebuilt from the head up with 30k miles on it and was strong as hell, but the chassis was just blah. Had wiring problems, no rust, but creaked, and some structural bolts were backed out, etc.

well im trading my car for it both cars are worth about teh same, otehr then the miles on teh 240.... i dont see anything else that makes that 240 not worth it. and yeah this would be my daily driver and not that i would abuse it, but i might mess around with it.
