Hello fellow audiophiles! I'd like to start off by saying that this is my first post, but I love reading all of the audio / video messages in this forum. They are very informative and have helped me learn allot.

Second, I will admit that i know very little about sound, that does not mean that I enjoy with the utmost a quality and clean sound. Unfortunately for myself, and I suspect a few of you, my A/C does not deliver this with the stock BOSE system. So this is my question:

What would I need to get in order to satisfy these requirements?-More clean bass (no rattle)-Touch screen GPS-Crisper highs-Remove rattling

*Price range is up to $5k*By reading I learned that I should probably look into Infinity Kappa speakers, Rockford subs and amps.*Also, anyone know where the current speakers are located in my car and the best speaker location(s) for any new speakers?

I appreciate before hand, any and all input. Thanks!

If you have the base model package then there are 6x9s in the rear deck, 6 1/2s (i think thats the size) in the front door, and 3 1/2's (i think) in the dash... you can check this info at crutchfield.com or look up your cars speaker sizes and locations if this is not ur model.

Welcome to Nico lets see some pics of that car..

I also would like to welcome a fellow north carolina member!!!

thanks for the advice man!

After reading up some more, mainly Dr. Feelgood, I think I'm going with Infinity Kappas for speakers and roxford for my sub and amps. Not sure yet about the touch screen nav., any suggestions?

Also, anyone know of a quality installer in NC?

Honestly, not that I don't want you to get the Rockford system, but I would like for someone to install the top of the line JL audio stuff in their car... I think JL makes some damn good amps and subs also... Also, if you like deep, loud, thumping bass, I would op for two JL W6's in a sealed box... Although two 12" Rockford T1's would sound nice, it would have to be in a vented box, and each sub need likes 3 cu ft vented, thus 6 cu ft in your trunk, and then you lose your whole trunk... if I wasn't such a Rockford Fosgate whore, i would definately jump on 2 x 12" JL audio 12's in a sealed box!

Why does the Rocksford have to be in a vented box and the JL is ok for a sealed box? Also, what are the estimated price differences?

check ebay for prices... but warning. "they aint cheap"

Rockford's power subs just don't soud good in a saled box.. they want air.. they need air, they are designed for air...

Micheal Jordan could probably do well on a kiddie court with 8 ft baskets, but only on a real court with 10 ft baskets do you really get to see him shine!!!!

Really good analogy! Thanks Doc!

Also, I'm curious... Are the Infinity Kappas just tweeters or are they a set pair of speaker and tweeter? I'm definitely getting them. If they are a pair, I'll get 2 pair and try to find the speakers by themselves for the rear passenger. then get some larger ones to mount above the trunk where the current BOSE woofers go.

Infinity Kappas are components.. components usually include a mid range woofer (5.5" or 6.5") a tweeter (.75" or 1") and crossovers. Infinity Kappas are good, Infinity Kappa Perfects are better! If you want the ultimate, go with Boston Acoustic Pro 60's or Boston Acoustic SPZ60's... but the SPZ60's cost like ~ $1000.00 , and the pro 60's are like $500... worth every penny though!

What did you throw in your car? And another random question, i'm still looking on having some trunk space, so i'd like to have only 1 sub, are there anything like a JL stealthbox for the A/C?

Ok, for a box, there's one on ebay that seems to be OK for a general pre fab box...

Aside from that, you can get a box built for a more "tight fit..

if you're really worried about space, you can get a slim sub like a punch P3 shallow, a Pioneer shallow, or a JL shallow sub...

as far as speakers, I have Boston Acoustic Pro 60's in the front, and Boston Acoustic SL95 6x9's in the rear
