Hi All,

I'm going to try this again. Hopefully the moderators will not move this one to the Want To Buy section where NO ONE WILL LOOK AT IT!!!

I would like to enlist the lists help in finding the last low mileage '94 or '95 Q45 left. As a rule, we tend to be aware of the cars that are for sale in our areas and exactly what makes a "good" Q.

My biggest considerations are mileage, condition, and records. Color is not an issue. Not real interested in an A. I will consider anything east of the Mississippi.

Did a search on Autotrader for Qs under 75,000 miles and only 2 turned up. Luckily both were within driving distance of my home in Florida. One had 55,000 miles, the oil looked like coal tar, there were rust bubbles coming through the paint on both front fenders and the hood, and the interior had significant sun damage. The car must have spent its entire life parked on a beach.

The other car had 65,000 miles, looked OK from a distance, and had records from a local Infiniti dealer. However, the car had damage in a rear fender that the used car dealer fixed. Unfortunately he appeared to paint the back half of the car with spray cans of Rustolium with overspray on the glass, on the tail lights, and on one wheel. It had several runs that looked like he had painted over toothpaste. It would cost $8,000 to put this car back to right. I would have bought this one if the damage was left alone.

I am seriously looking and am willing to travel for the right car. If you find a car that you would want to have but just not right now, drop me an e-mail at <[email protected]>.

Thanks to you all.

Too bad. I am looking to sell my 1994 Q45A (No longer a Active). Also I have about 132k miles on mine but running strong and taken care of really well. But I am in California.

If you are interested I can send pictures.

You would have much better luck looking for a 2001 AE, maybe a little less power but way fewer problems to deal with later.

The best places to look is Palm Springs/Palm Desert where old people drive them 5k a year, take them to dealerships religiously and keep the garaged in near zero rain...but that is a long drive.

Widen your search and consider coming to the left coast and/or a newer Q.

Good luck! It took me around 3 years to find "that special Q." Don't give up. It'll be worth it in the end.

It takes wonder...... question yourself what it would be like. Ask and you shall receive.

I was searching for just about a whole year. Didn't find the perfect one but with major maintenance already done... I can make this perfect to my liking.

So good luck. It can take some time but its definitely worth it.

I was like you...

Found 6 under 100K cars (94-96) over three years, bought 2.

Spent 5K on one and put 12K in her.

Spent 6K on the black on black acquision put 4K in her and she is puuurfect better than new, better than any BMW/Benz to me. In fact, she blew away my mint 01540I 6s so I sold it. You would have to twist my arm to buy her for $35K. I think she's the best Q in the US. Perfect leather, smells new, always garaged, shifts invisably, shines like the batmobile (can you tell I'm proud-laugh).

Now the 94 still at 72K miles is a daily driver...shes eats the money but runs like a clock.. needs a pan gasket and a seat redo. She's not for sale.

GOOD LUCK....

I look every day for that elusive 94-96 from some sealed vault with 1000 miles on the od. Just to put another 10K into it to drive it though.

DOUBLE GOOD LUCK in finding her!

Peter
