Hey all,

I have a 2006 M35x which runs beautifully.

I crashed my 2011 M56, which I miss dearly.

I was thinking about getting a JX 35, I don't see a forums page for the JX 35, do they have one?

Also do guys have any suggestions for me? Should I get one and anything I should know before I start looking into getting one?

Many Thanks
Andy

It’s in the trucks section.

I’m biased against it because of the fwd based platform. I’ve had a few for loaners. Probably good for family or hauling stuff inside, is like a minivan without minivan back doors to me.

My wife recently got a QX60. we like it so far. I'm used to my M37, so it's a bit large for my taste, but it drives more like a big car than a truck or SUV. It does have the CVT which might feel weird for a lot of people who are used to a standard transmission.

I am not a fan of the CVT especially from Nissan - generally the least reliable. I think they have, or will soon extend the warranty on the CVT to 10yrs / 120k miles as they had frequent lawsuits due to failures resulting in replacement of the entire CVT. That may be bogus so check it out for yourself. I don't want to cause you unnecessary concern. I've had loaner Q60s and I was impressed at how good the ride was, but the transmission felt wonky when making a turn and trying to accelerate immediately after.
Now, Nissan has added VVC (variable valve compression) engines to the QX50. It's the latest idea after the failures of the engines that used to shut down cylinders to save fuel. They all failed miserably so now they added cantilevers, and extra moving parts to the pistons, etc. That is going to be a huge problem for Infiniti under warranty and a huge problem for owners after warranty. The QX60 still uses the 3.5L engine which has a great history.
