-- Got a set of M45 18x8s that are going on my 90 Q and I'm currently tire shopping. Would I be better suited with a 245/45 or 255/45? Just looking for some thoughts & opinions, especially from someone running this type of setup. Thx in advance, Nico is Nice.

45mm on the 90-96 OEM wheel vs. 47mm on the 18x8 M45 wheel. The earlier 18x7.5 M45 wheels had a 35mm offset, so that's probably what qship is thinking of.

Based on what the rolling diameter would end up, I'd say that 245/45-18 will be a better fit for the first gen Q.

Lots more tire options in that size too.

Regardless, since it is a first-gen Q, I'd still be concerned about fitment using the current-gen M wheels. The original OEM wheels were a lot narrower, etc.

I think that the 47mm offset of the wider 2006+ M wheels will contact the suspension components - the first-gen M with 35mm offset would be a far better fit.

But, the best idea is to try a fit at a friendly tire place - just wheels first and then with tires.

245-45-18 is the ideal tire size on the Q.

Stock tire size: 215/65/15 = 26.0" diameter245/45/18 = 26.7" - your speedo will read 2.6% high

I would go with:255/40/18 = 26.0" matches stock diameter-OR-245/40/18 = 25.7" - your speed will read 1.1% low

I have G35 coupe rims 18x8 on my '94 and I went with 245/40/18 because the tires I wanted were a LOT cheaper in that size and the speedo is only off by a tiny bit.

However, the G35 coupe rims have a 30mm offset, so I would double check that the 47mm offset isn't too high.

There was a great tire sticky in Infiniti General.

Maybe Z can locate it for us.

Also a comprehensive wheel post in this forum that was effed up by careless VIP type posters.

Very nice. Those must be 03' M45 Rims as the 06' versions need spacers on 1st or 2nd Gen.

Good score, great update on the car.

The Y34 will fit, the Y50 will not wihout the additional dead weight of spacers.

The wheels almost look too big for the car?
