I'm looking to buy a 2006 Infiniti M35 with 96,000 miles. It has some scratches to the body, nothing too bad. I negotiated down to $13000 out the door with 4 new tires. What do you folks think? Also, what about this particular year? From what I read, infiniti are reliable cars. I'm just a little worried about the high mileage and no warranty. Is three anything I should be concerned about, especially at this mileage? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I think it's a good deal!! But, is it advance tech? Sport package? Those packages are almost required in order to fully enjoy you driving experience!! At the very least look for the advance tech package: full steering wheel of controls including distance control for adaptive cruise control, a camera behind the rear view mirror for your lane departure warning system, and most important your DVD inside your center console that plays DVD and DVD audio under 5.1 digital surround sound by Bose!!! Your tech package well simply add navigation... :gotme

I believe it has the advance tech pkg. i know it has a bunch of the steering wheel controls and has the rear camera. Again, im concerned about the miles plus the fact that it doesnt look like it was pampered, however, it still seems like a decent deal, considering the type of car. What about the timimg chain? When are they usually changed or begin to give you trouble? What else should I be concrned with going out around this mileage?

Also, what do you think about trying to get an extended warranty? Do you think the Infiniti delear would offer one considering the mileage(95,000)? and if so what do you think something like this would go for?

Yeah get ready to change out your front wheel bearings! My 35X has exactly 96K on it and I just found out earlier this week that the hub bearing assemblies need to be replaced. All of a sudden I start hearing this humming sound coming from the front of the car and notice (now that i think about it) it has been starting to wonder around on the highway. You might ask the dealer to check your front wheel bearings just to be on the safe side. I bought my 35X with 39K on it back in '09 and this issue, knock on wood, is the only major one that I've had. Also, my multi-cd changer has eaten about 3 of my cd's and won't give them back! Won't play cd's now either.

Extended warranties if not Infiniti elite warranty is a definite no no!! :nono: if you are buying at an Infiniti dealership they may offer the Infiniti elite due to the fact that the car has under 100k miles, but it will be expensive ($3k maybe). Timing chain is not replaced, idler pulley is changed is out goes bad at times... For the 06-07 interior, the drivers leather seat may have wear and year on the left side of the seat and left side lumbar. My 07 M35 drivers seat was worn bad at 50k miles! My 08 M45 was awesome at 76k miles (still looked new)!! :yesnod

You can also check into your local Infiniti for service records if not at an Infiniti dealership already... These cars are great! Go for it at that price!! Advance tech most noticeable feature is speakers in the front seats, DVD player in center console!!

Good luck!! :dblthumb:

If you dont hear anything abnormal with the engine, I wouldnt worry too much about the miles. Its normal for a little white smoke at startup for the first couple of seconds, all of the M's do it. As long as there is no loud ticking, knocking, or hesitation on start, I'd say that is a killer deal. There is no black-mark on these cars like a lot of others ie: guaranteed transmission failure at 105k, or anything like that. There will always be little things here and there, which is normal with every car.
I'd jump on it.

At that price, you can flip it for some extra cash if you're not happy with it... but I have a feeling that you will end up keeping it.

I got mine with 50,000 miles, and it now has 120,000 miles. Besides regular maintenance and a stupid battery issue from being at bodyshop, it's been fine. I've had to replace my tires twice and probably need to again in a few months. The last set of tires I got were Hankook's and they've lasted longer than the others. I still love my car as much as I did the day I bought her. Good luck. Sounds like a good deal.
