I personally think the stock s13 seats are wretchedly uncomfortable and I'm looking to replace them. The problem is, I don't really know what to look for. I have zero intention of racing or drifting and I'm only looking for a comfort and aesthetic upgrade. I want to stick with something cloth that reclines and slides. Height is also a concern. I need something that sits no more than an inch higher than stock. (I'm 6'1" and I have a mohawk, not a lot of room to play with). I'm also looking to keep it under 500 bucks. In fact, under 400 would be ideal, but after considering the cost of brackets I don't think that will happen unless I want cardboard.

I've done tons of searching and I have a good feel for what to look for in racing seats, but that doesn't really do me much good.

So far I'm looking at:http://www.nrginnovations.com/products/(The EVO style, you'll have to scroll, no direct links)

http://www.andysautosport.com/....html

http://www.andysautosport.com/....html

And I'm looking through these:http://www.shophyperformance.c...qEjHw

Any thoughts on these or suggestions?

Cheers

in this case i would say racing seats would be irrelevant to your needs.

s14/s15/350z seats would be considerable imo

I actually just came across that suggestion and it looks like a perfect idea. The only problem is trying to find a a black pair.

Edit: I'm still looking at buying seats though. I haven't figured out which I'd prefer.

If they're black you can post some pics and I'll have a look, but from what I see in a Google search I'm not sure I'll like them.

S14 seats look better, not crazy good but your back won't hurt after driving for an hour. I could take road trips of 3-4 hours and my back felt fine.

S15 seats are crazy expensive, like $400-$500 a piece last time I looked, and don't look that great in comparison to something else in that price range.

I see 350z cloth seats for $300 a pair locally, wouldn't be that much to have a welding shop modify the brackets, although I am not sure how it works with those. And they look pretty good.

I picked up a set of Sparco Torinos (slides and reclines) for $400, wrong color for my interior (dark blue), flipped them and paid $600 for a minty set of all black ones. If you are really lucky, you might find a set where they already were in an S13 or S14, but mounting brackets are $120 each, plus $60 for the sliders. They are way more comfortable than anything I have ever sat in short of an S4 with Recaros. And as long as you get a solid color pair, ie not ones with ricey red inserts, they look pretty cool without looking boy-racer IMO.

But I wouldn't get knock-off racing seats, stick with OEM unless you are getting real Recaro's, Brides, or Sparcos, otherwise I would bet your back will be just as bad off as with your S13 seats.

Yea, I'm not looking for racing seats specifically, I just don't know what other options for aftermarket seats exist. I like the idea of some black s14 seats if I can find a good set, but a band new set would be even nicer if I can find something. I've seen a few options that aren't really racing seats and those are the ones I am considering most.

$550 for a pair and you don't need no additional brackets http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...ories

Either that or I'd go with Sonicmotor.com

I'll pass on the R33 seats. Looking for something black. Thanks for the offer though.

Anyone know how comfortable the Sonic Motor seats are? I'm looking at these: http://www.sonicmotor.com/DG_R...r.htm

About s14 seats, I'm looking around for some in black, but I've had someone tell me they weren't manufactured in black. Is this true?

some people dont take into account that seat brackets alone may be around $300+

so that price for s15 seats isn't really that bad

So does anyone know if s14 seats were manufactured in black or would I be forced to dye them?

JHOT's site doesn't appear to work. If I search through stock parts for any car at all no results will show. Any other thought's on where to buy them?
