Hey everyone, I am usually in the CA18 forums but wandered over here since it is about time to shop for wheels. Here is what I am looking for:-16 or 17in-7 or 8 up front, 8 or 9 in back (I will have over 300whp so wide rims will not be a big deal)-Car will be street driven but will go to the drag strip or parking lot every once in a while for fun but no serious racing of any kind.-no clue on tire sizes-would like a low offset to get as close to flush as possible(fenders will be rolled)-4x114.3 (will be using Q45 brakes)-coilovers will be coming later on-cheap as possible

Anything you can do to help me find something in a cheap price range would be great. I am deep in my engine project and wont have a whole lot to spend. No price range is set but stuff like Advan is out of the question.

Thanks a ton!-Ian

Im really not sure how wide the kosei k1s go but they are pretty darn cheap and light. I think Grant will be able to tell you more about them since he is from tirerack.com

I dont know what your price range is, but you described tons of wheels there. If you dont care about weight, then you can find many wheels. However, most of the cheap wheels dont come in nissan friendly offsets or in 9" wide wheels. My favorites are the 5zigen fn-01rc wheels or the black racing pro-n1s. Both of which are wide, have nice offsets, are fairly light, and cost about 200 bucks apiece. Try tirerack.com or wheelmax.com to peruse a wide selection of wheels.

go to wheelmax.com, and look under 5zigen. they have fn-01rc in 17x8 in front and 17x9 in back. i believe with tires they are $1215. also, the 5zigen typhoons are in 17x8 and 17x9 for $900 with tires. good deal imo.

unfortuanately, low price and split offsets dont mix, becase the availability of different wdiths and offsets mean a higher manufacturing costs...

if you plan on running coilovers, check out a 17x7 or 17x7.5 in a 35mm or 30mm offset(respectively), and a17x8 or 17x9(or even 17x8.5) in about a 30mm offset in the back.

those offsets should clear coilovers and Q45 brakes, provided the wheel designs spokes will allow it.

for tires sizes, a 245-40-17 rear and 225-45-17 front(M3 style) should be more than adequate., if you like, you can run what russ does(235-40-17 all the way around), which if you select a nice tire should be more than grippy enough also.

i'm really liking the black racing Pro N1 in Bronze. That package of (2) 17x8 and (2) 17x9 would be perfect. Any idea what offsets I would need to clear coilovers? I would also be able to afford that if I save for a lil while. Any opinions are appreciated.

Thanks!-Ian

We have the K1 in a 17X7.5 45mm but that is the only 17 in a 5-114 pattern. No other offests available. SSR has a 17X7.5 42mm and a 17X8 31mm on the way but nothing in other offsets.:(
