ill be doing a KA-T build here in the next few months and was wondering what kind of power i might make with this particular setup.

right now i have:

91 KA24DEJWT S1 camsA'PEXi N1 cat backcone filter and adapterno A/Cno P/Selectric fan

i will be installing:

KA-T exhaust manifoldGarrett/AiResearch T3 Volvo FMIC2.5" IC pipingSR 370cc injectorsRRFPRA'PEXi S-AFC300ZX TT fuel pumpMSD BTM ignition system

i will be running approximately 7lbs of boost to begin with. i wanted to get some type of estimate from some of you that have done a KA-T setup before. i have tinkered with turbo Volvo's and Celica's in the past, but this will be my first venture into the KA world. all responses will be greatly appreciated.

7psi from a T3 will be in the ~220-225rwhp range I'd guess.

Your cams won't really be beneficial with that smallish compressor, and if it's a straight T3 (Stage I wheel and .63 A/R...?) will not let it flow very well up top, where those cams excel.

If you haven't bought a turbo yet, look into something a little bigger IMO. (Hint: T3/T04E 50-trim)

i havent gotten the turbo yet, so i could switch.

i could also sell the cams and get a set of stock ones, as the ones i have came in the DE when i bought it. im just trying to keep this project as cheap as possible.

Keep the cams...they are good.

Just up the turbo size...

I made 224rwhp @ 6psi from my T3/T4 57-trim. Spools to low boost by ~3200, but is making boost anywhere above ~2700-2800 or so...

And with that, you can run a decent sized turbine (.63 A/R, Stage III), not choke off your top end, and have room to grow. All good things...

thanks for the reply Brian. it makes me feel better to keep the $560 cams, instead of selling them.

i may shoot for a bigger turbo, but i still dont know. its all a matter of money.
