A great resource for Nissan Sentra, Infiniti G20, 200sx, Pulsar, NX1600, NX2000, Tsuru, Primera and Sunny owners.

Hello,

I´m writing from Germany.Does anybody here know where to find good fotos of the engine, engine bay, gearbox and drive train of the 2007 Sentra SR-E Spec V (B16)??

Or can anybody take them for me? In Germany (also Europe) the Sentra isn´t offered and in the internet I haven´t found what I´m looking for...

Thanks in advance.

Another question, someboy knows a repair manual for that model?

Looks it similar to that? (engine bay of the Renault Koleos small SUV)

It does look similar.

For the US version we have the Factory Service Manual. There's a link to it in my signature.

What is the engine code? Here it's a QR25DE.

Thanks man, that link is great! The engine code of the renault version should be M4U but I´m not 100% sure.

Hmm... Well I'm not familiar with Renault engine codes, but from what I can find, the Koleos is essentially a Nissan X-Trail (also not available in the US), which is being phased out and replaced by the Rogue, which is a US-market car.

The engines available in the X-Trail are a QR25DE and a QR20DE, as well as some diesels.

So, from what I can tell based on that picture, you have a Renault-specification QR25DE, which means that the link I mentioned should cover your engine. You may also want to check in the Rogue forum and see if they can help you out, as that is the closest relative we have to your vehicle.

The Rogue forum is here - zeroforum?id=215

Renault is not using "foreign" engine codes, they give the engines their own codes. For example the Nissan MR20DE engine, that is also installed in the ClioIII, is then called M4R.

Thanks again for the hint with the Rogue-Forum, but I´m not owning a Koleos. What I´m doing is collecting information about the "hot" version of the QR25DE and about the possibility to install such a engine in my Renault MéganeII.

I think this car is totally unknown in the US....

Well I figured they weren't using the same engine codes, I was just stating that for your purposes on this site, most people would refer to the engines by their Nissan name.

What year is your Megane? The current Sentra is on the same chassis as the Megane (you probably know that since you came here). That should make for an easy swap if you choose to go that route.

@nametakennow

Sorry, then I did misunderstand you.

My Megane is a 2005 model, the second generation of the meganes, still produced up to now, exept a small fece lift in 2006. That they are the same platform was the reason to ask for information here.

@graphicdude

No sorry there no upgrades or tuning availible as far as I know, as there is also a 2.0L 197hp OEM-version of the ClioIII offered (but this is a renault engine).

This 2.0L Renault engine, it isn't a tuned version of the M4R is it?

Don't they have 225 turbo engine in one of the Megane? Wouldn't that be a better swap than the 200 hp 2.5 from the Spec V?

No that´s a Renault F-engine, bore x stroke 82,7mm x 93mm, cylinder spacing 89mm, camshaft timing belt (no chain), 197hp @ 7250rpm

Yes they have, but if you want to have something special that nobody has and not only the power figures...And I don´t want to begin with this tomorrow, this is just collecting information.

Then there's one BIG thing you want to be sure about as you look into the 2.5 which you may not yet be aware of.

Do not get one from a US Sentra of 2002-2006 model years. They have some issues:

- precatalytic converter failure, so I suspect you'd get rid of this part when you got it anyway- loose butterfly valve screws that can be sucked into the engine- less power and poorer fuel economy than the current (2007+) ones

Of course, those are all things you can avoid with a little work, but the revised version is a better starting point.

Beyond that, take a look around the Sentra forum and post if you have any questions.
