I would offer him $1500, because the engine might be bad. Although sounds like a leaking injector to me, so, might not be an issue. I would go check it out, and see if you think it is worth it. Never pay what they are asking, always talk them down and never buy sight unseen.

The question is, do you think its worth it? Do you feel like this is the car for you? We cant help you with that, but I would talk him down to $1500. Explaining to him that the hatch needs to be replaced or fixed, the engine needs work, the PS fluid leak needs to be looked at, the shifter feels funny, so I have to worry about that. It needs brakes, but, how will you know just what you need until you pull off the calipers and see that you may need calipers. And thats just going off the ad. I would make the guy feel like there is so much to do, he would be happy to get rid of it.

But, like I said before, do you think that this car would work for you and your purposes??? If yes, then look into it, if no, then let it go. It really is that simple. People nowadays are too indecisive.

ya i see exactly what your saying, im trying to get my friend who is a mechanic to come with me and check it out.. im just worried about the engine and the PS.. if its the PS pump then that's alot more work piled on.. from what he told me the brakes just need new pads and rotors... maybe even a few new calipers.. but i dont really mind doing a fix up.. just 3000 seemed so expensive for what it was... but 1500?? ill see what i can do.. thanks

Ya, $1500. Because swapped s13's are going for $3000 in perfect working order. An s13 that needs work, is worth half the price of a running driving turbo car. The PS leak is normally just the pressure hose, but you never know. Good luck though.

what does he mean by

"B&M shifter is kinda sloppy because I lost the boots to the shifter but it works fine."

does the shift boot really keep it from being sloppy??

Maybe he just means that it looks sloppy not that it shifts sloppy.

You are asking the wrong people. There are two phone numbers on the ad, call the guy and ask him any questions about his car that you have. We dont own it, I've never even been to Boston, so, how would we know????? Call the OWNER of the car and ask him...
