^^Other than that, it's a used car. Normal, common sense things -- look for fluid leaks, uneven tire wear.

Any used car is going to be a gamble. Even if it has had all of the services done and it has been babied sometimes things just go wrong. Around 100k is often when a lot of things need to be replaced like starters, alternators, CV joints and different sensors.

Maximas tend to be pretty reliable cars, but occasional problems come up, as with any car. I don't know that many people that think Maximas are unreliable. It is Nissan's flagship car and they tend to be pretty well built.

well, no maxima this time, whats up when you kick the gas to pass and instead of downshifting it just revs til the limit and wont shift out till its near red line when you start off and skips to drive when it does, thats what that car was doing, and needs all new struts, other than that it ran smooth as butter.

At around 100,000 miles my 95 AND my 98 had the following problems;

1) Fuse box covers fall off in passenger compartment2) New O2 sensors by muffler needed3) Muffler near end of cars starting to rust out4) New valve cover gaskets needed to stop oil leaks (Washard to tell -falsely thought it was PS pump)5) Both cars kind of hard of CV joints, but other + aspectsof car overide that -6) Some of the coil packs started going out on my 95 aboutthis time.7) Need to clean IACV and throttle body before trying to diagnoseother problems. Emmissions stuff often causes symptons but engineis usually ok.8) Would suggest AC recharge for good measure9) The EGR tube connecting to upper intake manifold was full ofcarbon on both cars before I did maint.
