Hi,

I am a long time reader but posting for the first time. I am experiencingmultiple minor problems w/ my J30, one in particular for quitea long time. With 3 kids under the age of 11, I don't have much time to diagnoselet alone fix the problems myself. Although I have done some maintenancemyself, thanks to this forum especially.

They are all driveability related issues.

The problem is that most mechanics are too busy to road test(critical in myopinion), let alone, hook up your car and analyse the data, unless a check engine light appears.

So I would like to start w/ the mechanic search(maybe J30TT can help) andif that doesn't work, I'll be back w/ all the details.

Thanks in advance.

That's quite a statement. What do your mechanics do up there? Wave a magic wand or pray over the car and wait for a diagnosis from the heavens? Sorry to be a smart a$$ but that just struck me as funny. I can't imgaine where to begin without experiencing the problem or hooking it up for diagnostics.

I think what you're saying is that you haven't found a good technician... so hopefully someone will weigh in with some advice soon! In the absense of good advice here, you might look to see if there are any shops that specialize in the Nissan 300ZX - the two have a lot in common.

Good Luck!

Wow. I've never seen any Infiniti's, let alone a J30 in Laval. Nice.

Try getting in touch with Desmoquattro here on the board. He has a Q45 in Montreal. If you can find an FSM, maybe you guys can work at it together if you can't find a competent tech.

Don't understand what you mean by too busy. A technican's time must be paid for so at $85 per shop hour [about 45 minutes] we will be happy to devote a full day for $1000 to testing anything you want.

Many shops depend on a 25-30% parts markup and the typical job is 50/50 so you might need to supplement their hourly rate to make up for lost profit.

Sounds like you might not want to pay for a full and comprehensive diagnosis????????
