I am looking to buy some drilled rotors for my 1991 infiniti q45. I want to know if the ones on ebay are any good. I need to know what are the pros and cons of the rotors for drilled. Need to know if ebay rotors are worth buying or just getting regular rotors. Also need to know how long are the life of the rotors. Plz response asap i have damaged front rotors on my daily driver with brakes replaced.

Most Q45 owners (I was one for 12 years) prefer to use the OEM blanks or others that are as dense and heavy (you need the heat dissipation quality). If you do get cross-drilled, and/or slotted rotors, make sure that they are very high quality blanks (like Brembo, Bradi or Powerstop). The Q45 is a heavy car and will chew up low-quality, light-weight rotors in a hurry!

I did try the Bradi rotors cross-drilled and slotted once. My source was irotors.com (they also sell on eBay.) Worked out pretty well, IMHO.

BTW, the slots made for a different "sound" when stopping, and this takes getting used to!

Just make sure whatever you use is equal or heavier than oem.........every ounce counts! A 5% lighter rotor will get >5-10% hotter in the exact same stop.

The drilled vent holes don't do anything for single stop temperature peak tempatures........all happens too fast. Only big massive heavy can control the heat rise. But a 60> zero only raises the temp 150-170F* from what ever it was before braking. But that's additive without a 4-5 minute cool down between stops.

*Actually measured oem pads/rotors with IR reflective device
