I need help with the SR20DET (S13) wiring harness into an S14 chassis. I have looked but have found any specifics at to what plugs stay and which ones you can cut off. If anyone in the San Diego, CA area has done the DET swap can you help?

Searched for "S13 AND wiring AND harness" found a thread with this link in it. Does it have what you're looking for?

Well, thanks but I have most of the plugs needed I just need to know which ones I don't need. I have the 3 across the front, all the fuel injectors, the coil packs, power steering, maf sensor, the 2 plugs behind the battery location. What else will be needed to turn the motor over?

Well, yes alot of the information is there. But what about the fuel injectors? There is no mention of that in the write up. Mind you, it is very well written and I gained alot knowledge from that. But, I still have several connections (plugs) that do not go anywhere. I need to know whether or not a CEL will be tripped if I cut those plugs from the ECU harness. As I stated, the swap is done besides the wiring harness. If you live in the SD area, I would appreciate the help and I am sure my friend (his car) would hook you up with something if you helped us out!

Judjing by what you are saying, and what everyone else is saying there's some sort of dissconnect here.

Are you starting with a full S13 SR20DET engine harness? If you are.. which everyone assumes you are then you'll need to.. roughly.. do the following:

- modify this harness from Right Hand Drive to Left Hand drive. This consists of lengthening MAF, O2, ignitor wires.. maybe some others that i can't think of right now. Instructions should be any number of places on the web.

- then you have to make an extra harness to adapt the S13 harness to the S14 chassis. This is necessray because in the S14 they have a huge assed plug that goes over to everything on the dash.. they also have a bunch of other stuff integrated into this harness wiper amplifiers etc. The instructiosn for this have already been posted as a link.

This is what you have to do... what are you tallking about regarding the fuel injectors? Obviously you need to plug them into the injectors plugs on the SR harness. Other plugs? Well there will likely be over boost controller that you won't use, and AIV solenoid, posisbly a ABS sensor plug. If you have additional plugs I wouldn't cu tthem off, leave them there, then you won't have a problem if you find oputthey are supposed to be hooked up. If you have plugs that you aren't sure about still, take pictures, or explain where they are on the harness, how many pins, what color wires tec.

Update. The enine is in, the wiring harness is in place. Have power to everything, fuel pump works. The car turns over but does not catch. I believe the ignitor chip is bad. Tested the 4 prongs with a multimeter and only one of them produce 10-12 volts. Then tested the coils themselves and got a little bit of juice with 8 volts. Any further ideas?
