Post

Hi guys and gals,

I have a question that I am sure someone here can help me with.
I believe this is a 620 but don't know the year...
Image
I would love to know the year of it, as it was my (late) father's back when I was little (about 3-4 years old). This truck was my 1st show-of-interest into vehicles, I learned how to shift it (too small to drive, mess with pedals or anything). But I'd stand there and listen to the engine & shift.
Any other information you might have on it (like the odd graphics) would be appreciated.
Can't remember (or tell, since my dad was 6'4") if it was 2wd or 4wd.
Sorry for the blurry pic.

TIA

Cool picture. Sorry to hear your Dad is no longer with you and your family other than in thought.
Your Datsun in question is in fact a 620. Assuming the grill has never been changed, it would be a 1978. '78 and '79 shared the same grill, BUT, in '79 the radio antenna mast was moved to the drivers A pillar. Always a dead give away for a 1979 620.
Can you remember anything else about the truck or have other pictures you could share? Side shot?

Super-cool!

It's got the dealer-add bumper guard (I think from Amco), and that stripe package was way cool too.

Thank you for the information 620Jester, I appreciate it very much!
I don't remember a lot about it, other than the obvious lol. I remember his orange truck with (what-I-thought-back-then) tire tread graphics on the hood & I think it had white rims. I want to say it was 4wd and of course knowing my dad it probably was.
And asking him if I could shift it. He showed me how & to listen to the engine. Then at first I'd shift when he told me, then I got the hang of it. I couldn't have been no older than 3 or 4 years old & this was my 1st show-of-interest into vehicles that I can recollect. I am sure it shocked my dad that his little girl was asking such things lol.
Later on he had me sitting in his lap steering and the car love manifested.

cool link AZhitman. Makes me wonder if it was a Lil Hustler.
Don't think there are any more pictures of it sadly. Not many pictures were taken back then of all my dad's vehicles (I'm lucky if I have 1 pic of each, of course none have any info or dates written on them & I know quite a few are missing or just no pic taken). Then not too many years after this pic, he was in a near fatal motorcycle accident (they didn't expect him to live, he did though he had to re-learn everything again). Years of therapy, so everything was sold off.
Need to dig out the albums when I get a chance.

Thanks :)

Will need to figure out where to post the Eggs. This site is a bit confusing with its forums, subforums & sub-sub forums lol
