Can anyone help ? EBay is too high. Anyone ever opened a headlight to clean it?

If you haven't already checked the prices at the dealership, you will see that the Ebay sellers are offering these for considerably less, but still not cheap. They know what a new one from Infiniti costs too. There is also a risk buying a used one because there could be a small air leak that will allow condensation to form inside the lense.
Unfortunately, these headlamp assemblies are shockingly expensive and there is no cheap way out. I am curious why you want to open it up to clean it? Usually, you only need to resurface the outer lens and re-polish it to make it clear again. Could you maybe post a pic, or explain why you need to actually get inside of it to clean it?

I tried the 3m kit on the outside and it didn't help . It looks to me like moisture has got inside somehow and dried. I will take a pic in a few when I go out to shovel and try to find it. Can you upload pictures thru your phone on here?

Just in case you didn't know already ... 2006 through 2010 M35 / M45 all use the same headlamp assembly. That should allow you to widen your search input to include more than just 2006.
There IS one difference though .. The "sport" models have black backgrounds while the standard models have chrome background. I reckon Infinii thought black background gave it a sporty look but to me it just looks like the car is missing an upgraded option that includes nicer headlamps, LOL
I have never seen them for sale at anything close to a 'reasonable' price because even those who sell them used know just how unbelievably expensive new ones are.

Agree with Larz, Fleabay is your best bet, but you are taking a chance that the seal is not tight and you'll end up with the same problem.

I have a crack in my driver's side headlight that I need to swap out, not too noticeable but big enough to let moisture in, so when the weather is muggy I get a fogged up lens which I don't like looking at.

I found a fairly newer appearing used one on eBay for about $400 (dealer I think charges around $1500!!!!, mine came with bulbs and ballast-I may try to sell those off and recoup some moolah since I don't need those), tiny scratch which I am going to buff out. I am waiting for the weather to warm up and the couple of hours it's gonna take for me to disassemble everything to change it. Will likely do a DIY for the FAQ section once I get the chance.

you could also scour some salvage yards for your light if there are any pick yer part places near you...

good luck with your search

When searching for used ones also keep in mind besides sport and non sport, AFS, xenon and HID :dblthumb:

I have a pair of headlights for sale, but theyre custom painted. Off an 07 sport model. Not the cheapest to work and not leak.
