I have a 91 Q since new with 140K mi.I need to have steering and suspension repaired BUT the timing Chain Guides are original. From what I've been reading it seems that I would be taking a big risk spending any more money without replacing those guides. I would appreciate any recommendations concerning a good mechanic in the Phoenix area.

If I were you I wouldn't replace them unless you have the time to do them yourself and save a boat load of charges in labor.

You could take 5K and buy you a nice 94 95 or 96 that don't have as many problems. Also, if the rest of your current Q is in good shape you could parts it out and get around 2K i'm guessing.

Good luck!

Either replace them or part the car.

That's two, Brian (agreements). I won't let it happen again.

I think QSIGuy lives in the Phoenix area. Maybe he will see this and can recommend someone or give you a hand or some advice on doing this or something. Either pay someone else to do this now or download the factory service manual from NICO and do them yourself (more rewarding but not the easiest of jobs). Either way, I wouldn't recommend driving (or even starting the car) until it's done.
