I have a 1991 hatchback 240sx with an sr20det swap, needing a better rearend. Looking into LSD's cheapest i have seen was 600 and thats out of my price range, however i want one for summer time. Any suggestions? Other then welding the spider gears together lol

Thanks

Sounds to me like you need to expand your options! Used N/A Z32 (300zx), 95'-96' J30, and 240sx VLSDs (or HLSD from the S15) can easily be found.

However, keep in mind that with the Z32 VLSD you will need axles as well, as the 6-bolt flange from the stock 240sx axles will not bolt to the 5-bolt Z32 VLSD flange. This would allow you to retain the 4.083:1 final drive.

The J30 isn't a bad option either, but is a slightly taller final drive at 3.916:1.

If you buy a 1995-1996 they won't.

I'm guessing you didn't read the article I linked you to did you?

Not necessarily true. Although the J30 differential is slightly longer, I do know of people that have used them in conjunction with their stock driveshaft. There apparently is enough play to get it all to fit, although this might cause extra wear on the rear transmission seal. Luckily, it's easy to replace.

let me rephrase it. Will need a abs driveshaft when running a solid one piece driveshaft. However stock drive will work
