Hey everyone. I just recently blew my Ka motor and I am looking for a CA18DET motor. I tried Liberousa.com, cause I heard that they had some for around $800...well I guess they are not going to sell them anymore. If anyone knows where I can get one for a cheap price like that please let me know..it sucks being carless! Thanks everyone! :icesangel

Venus Auto, Flashoptions, and of course AfterDark-Tuning. Search. You'll find it.

They are located in Canada though. I emialed them yesterday to see if they had any in stock. I am weary of them though because I asked what the compression was and they didnt have na answer. They said they instruct their importer to only send the best engines and they dont get the results......I am kind of skeptical plus I am in the US...although I border Canada, I would rather buy more local. Also they arent complete. You would need an uncut harness, MAF and ignitor chip. The guy I spoke with said you can use the KA MAF and get an ignitor chip from an 1997 infinitI q45

I would humbly suggest using Jspecauto only as a last resort. That's where I bought mine from, and although the guy that runs it is a nice guy and the product was seems good (still waiting on parts for install so I haven't started it yet), it took 5 weeks for me to get it, and I'm only in Seattle (they're in Montreal). There's a place south of Seattle called Fairlady Z Motors that quoted me a price of $800 for the swap when I was asking just about harnesses, so maybe try them, though I've never actually "done business" with them. Just a thought.

I only added tham to the list above my post. Personally if you can't give me results of a compression test...which is kinda vital...you dont deserve my business. I would rather pay more

spec-v5150,

the infiniti q45 ingnitor works, and the ka MAF can be used with modifications (I'm not sure what you have to do to make it work) i'd search if you want to know how to do it, i know someone asked this awhile ago!

Hmm could you give me any contact info for fairlady z? Do they import motors or was that just a quote for the install.
