i found a 93 bmw 325i with 135,000 miles for $4000. he said it has new tires, rims, shocks, and brakes in the past 6 months. the body from the picture looks like there is no rust and no dents. so what do you guys think? good? bad? any opinion is good with me.

Ask if he has replaced any parts of the cooling system.

Some of the BMW I6's came with crappy water pumps that like to fail.

That seems like a pretty fair price if the car is very clean, if its average, then that price is a little high.

i wouldnt bother, as soon as something else goes wrong (with 135k it will soon) you will be paying out the as s for repairs. My brother had an older bmw and it was just outrageous what they wanted for new parts.

OEM parts can get pretty expensive if you dont have any hookups.

I happen to have these hookups, so maintenance on my 525i wont be too bad, with wholesale price parts and extremely cheap or free labor.

By now, if it hada plastic water pump impellor it has probably been replaced. Of course that's just probability... mine turned out to have the original plastic impellor at 149xxx. Craziness but it's gone now.

The 325 should be one of the cheapest Bimmers to own. My dad's 2.5 has caused him no problems whatsoever in 102xxx. If it's in good shape it should be a fun car.

in my opinion, aged european cars(or any car for that matter) are only good to buy used if the owner has maintained the car according to manufacture standards. i learned the hard way with the benz i have. even if you maintain the car as soon as something breaks and you repair it something else breaks

Yeah, if you plan on getting one, see what maintenance records they have for it. The one I bought in March had a thick stack of routine maintenance records, and I havent had any problems with it yet. Knocks on wood
